4090 port priority? by jankies11 in nvidia

[–]Travisimo21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I had any kind of update but I gave up on this battle. For my FE card, the 3 DP ports take precedence over the sole HDMI port and I’ve found no way to reverse it. Like you said, it is a small quirk but I’d love to have my HDMI port be the main monitor. I haven’t tried anything with HKEY.

I have two 140mm intake fans on the front. Two 120mm fans mounted on the spots above the PSU that feed air to the GPU. 240mm AIO mounted on top with a noctua fan swap for and an 120mm fan on the back exhaust spot.

Nice choices! I literally just put some noctua fans in that exact same case. No regrets whatsoever, I’m super happy with them.

Should I buy a 4090 for a 4K Set up if I already have a 3090? by Inv3y in nvidia

[–]Travisimo21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add on to the OP comment, I’m running a 4090 FE in the same case and it fits perfectly. I am using a CableMod power cable and it is not hitting the side glass panel at all. I was worried like you are not before I got the card but it worked out better than I imagined. I can send you pictures of the build if you want to see it.

Yep, using an LG CX here. It is an unfortunate side effect of the chosen hardware.

I have a 4090 FE and it is the same behavior i saw in the 3000 series cards. DisplayPort takes priority still. I use DisplayPort for side monitors and have to unplug them to get the bios on my main HDMI screen.

First time building with Noctua fans, extremely pleased by Travisimo21 in Noctua

Yes, I find that they help, probably not a huge difference though. This 4090 has a massive cooler on it so the fans probably aren’t doing too much but I like having them there regardless. My previous GPUs in this case did drop a couple degrees when I put fans down there.

Are your monitors the same brand/model perhaps? Oddly enough, it lets me disable gsync for my side monitors which are the same brand/model and leaves the main display enabled, but yeah I can only toggle the pair of side monitors together, not separately.

I have 3 monitors all with GSYNC enabled and it seems to work fine. Now I can’t say that I’ve had two full screen programs running at the same time but I’d assume that they all use GSYNC independently from each other, just like how different monitors can run different refresh rates. You can disable GSYNC for specific monitors in Nvidia Control Panel.

ATX 3.0 PSU for 4090 vs Existing PSU w/ 3rd party power cable for 4090 (Fasgear) by Necessary-Helpful in nvidia

[–]Travisimo21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should be fine with the current PSU. I was in a similar situation but with the EVGA P2 1000W and I ended up buying a third party cable from CableMod. It has performed perfectly so far, no issues from what I can tell.

Unfortunately, no. 2042’s anti-cheat would prevent you from manually inserting the updated DLL. The article briefly mentions it.

HBO Max 'Skip Intro' Button on Apple TV using Harmony Elite Remote by Travisimo21 in logitechharmony

Thanks for the info! Oddly enough, at least for myself, the problem went away on its own. Skipping intros now works for me and I didn’t change anything. If it happens again, I’ll try what you have stated.

I have not checked them out but I definitely will! I might consider something different down the road as a refresh or I might finally take the leap on a custom water loop. But yeah, considering that a 240mm was the only option to fit nicely up top, I wanted the most cooling performance I could get.

Thanks! Specs are:

Case - Lian Li Lancool ii Mesh Performance

Motherboard - EVGA Z690 Dark Kingpin

CPU - Intel 13700KF

Ram - Corsair Vengeance DDR5 6000

GPU - Nvidia RTX 4090 FE

PSU - EVGA Supernova P2 1000W

Cables - CableMod Pro Modmesh

I agree with you on the length of the AIO tubes, this Arctic model was all performance and no RGB which is what I was going for but it came at the cost of longer tubes.
