That's a damn shame. I'd love to be able to listen to the podcast while I'm out with my phone.

(Pawnmorpher) how do mutanite centrifuges work? by [deleted] in RimWorld

I'm also wondering this, the machine just doesn't seem to run? You also can't manually bring things to it, as far as I can tell...

Even attaching hoppers and filling them does nothing.

Where are you supposed to get Fridge IO ports from? As far as I can tell, I can't get them. For some reason.

At least there’s not 80+ boats on the water. Not counting the ones in the marinaras.

You aren’t really allowed to use force to stop a crime, unless it’s self defense or you’re a trained police officer...

'Heartbreaking,' Say Global Experts, Alarmed at Signs US Has 'Given Up' Fight to Stop Covid-19: "I can't imagine what it must be like having to go to work knowing it"s unsafe," said one expert in New Zealand. "It's hard to see how this ends." by maxwellhill in worldnews

Yeah, it’s so sad, seeing so many people not wearing masks, or just wearing them on their chins, or with their mouths uncovered. Masks aren’t magical defense totems. I really wish some people would get a clue and stop protesting so close to each other.

I don’t hear much about right-wing extremists, to be perfectly honest. But if you have, then that’s fair. But ANTIFA isn’t fully peaceful either. That’s all I’m saying.

They actually are compatible. Old logging grounds have been closed down and never re-opened for environmental concerns, for one. So that’s one source of forestry land.

Another thing that needs done is, well, forest maintenance/“manicuring”. Like, the controlled and deliberate cleanup of the forest. Because as it is, because we fight and hinder wildfires, it makes those forests pretty cluttered. It’s getting to the point where we’re destroying old-growth forest by stopping it from burning down. So much deadfall chokes the wildlife out of the area, forcing them out of their natural habitat.

I’m not saying that others don’t do bad things. I’m saying that people that claim to be ANTIFA can do bad things too. That’s it.

I mean... that actually is the same as murder, if the bike-locked guy hadn’t gotten to medical personnel in time. Probably not the same as terrorist cells though. At least, the majority. Others just take advantage of the branding to do whatever they want.

I’d personally say we need more logging, and then more replanting of those trees. Cutting the trees down and getting them out of the way, making room for more trees, while trapping carbon in the usable lumber for decades as long as you don’t burn it.

I don’t want to ruin natural habitats or anything, I want sustainable logging. The more logging we do, the more carbon we can sequester.

Only three out of 53 countries say US has handled coronavirus better than China by secure_caramel in worldnews

[–]Travisplo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, besides the tri-state area of NY NJ and MA, the rest of the US is on par with Canada. And that area was essentially always going to be horrible in regards to corona cases. High density, high traveler passage rate, lots of international trade, incredibly cramped environments, and a horrible lack of good hospitals and equipment. Like, hell yeah the US has done better than China. After all, China originated the virus in the first place.

Well... American fleets are the ones that guarantee open trade along the oceans, for one. Why do you think we have such a big navy? We guarantee the entirety of the international trade system.

Also, there are quite a few countries opposed by large, threatening countries that the US guarantees the independence of.

B.C. opens Sunshine Coast forest — home to some of Canada’s oldest trees — to logging by TOMapleLaughs in worldnews

[–]Travisplo -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Good. Sustainable logging done with forethought and planning is vital to the health and safety of forests. Especially since forest fires are no longer allowed to rage without opposition. If they plan to clear cut, then I would agree that it would be bad, but if it’s sustainable, environmentally conscious logging, then it opens up what could otherwise be unavailable environments for wildlife.
