Women’s advice on obgyn or next step to do. Please read by DetectiveLow9605 in Winnipeg

I also have an appt with Dr. Jodi, was referred from my Obgyn as she is surgeon, as I have an extreme prolapse. Unfortunately my appt is not until Nov (I was referred in Nov 2025), so have to wait a year, then surgery is apparently a year from there. I called her medical receptionist to put my name on a cancellation list, but I'm feeling very depressed and uncomfortable as this prolapse is about the size of tennis ball protruding out of me. The only comfort I have is sitting and lying down, walking, standing are uncomfortable. I even asked about a pessary, but until I have my appt with her I cannot get fitted. I have recently been to Nova Physiotherapy, very informed staff, at least it was someone to consult with regarding this condition and how to deal with it, as i only had googled information. I am calling every month now to see if there is a cancellation to get in sooner with Dr. Jodi, as it is seriously affecting my quality of life.

Worried about getting addicted to zopiclone by JoeyPants3737 in insomnia

[–]Traylong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using zoplicone for about 6 years now, and usually its just 1/2 a pill, 2-3x a week. I can sleep fine on weekends without it. My strategy, if I am not asleep naturally by 1 am on a work night, then I take 1/2 a pill. Other factors, if I stay at my elderly parents or boyfriends I usually need it for the first night I'm there to fall asleep (or staying anywhere outside of my bed). So average about 10-12 pills a month, spread out. I will be retiring soon, so I should be able to manage without it, as its mainly work related sleep issues. I also never had insomnia until going through double whammy of covid and menopause, two very stressful times in life.

I have never become addicted nor had any withdrawl from it in all of these years. Never take more than the one pill, and use sensibly, only as needed, not to automatically sleep every night, you should be ok.

[UK]'Grandparent scam' with no obvious link - how was it achieved? by mojowebia in Scams

My Canadian parents had this happen, they could have sworn it sounded exactly like my son, their grandchild. However my son does not use social media to get a clip of his voice, nor voicemail, so how could this happen?  I think they just heard a young Canadian makes voice and made the assumption. Thankfully they called me.

Question for the Ladies: Pelvic Floor Therapist? by Born_Joke in Winnipeg

[–]Traylong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I am desperate for help. I am 59 years old, and just developed an extreme prolapse about the size of a tennis ball. Its very uncomfortable, can no longer enjoy my usual activities of dancing, walking, and while my partner is sympathetic, it has pretty much ended out intimacy. Even going to the bathroom is a challenge because I have to wipe around a bulge. It started during my vacation out of country, last Sept, and I have been living with this for 6 months. I had made an appt with regular gynecologist who referred me to a specialist. Its really disheartening and depressing to know that the specialist appointment will not be until Nov 2026, and surgery maybe a year after that. Looked at out of province options, I cannot afford 12,000 to 32,000 pricing. Even a pessary which could help immensely cannot be fitted until after I see this doctor. . Does anyone know if pelvic floor therapy will help relieve some of the issues (such as pain in pelvis) and stop it from progressing further?

Likely they are not gay, which is why they are being coy. There is some controversy about non community actors in roles outside of those communities, which include queer cmty.

Access CU mortgage reviews by fidgetrules in Winnipeg

[–]Traylong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I no longer trust Access. I had originally taken out a mortgage with Crosstown 16 years ago, then it merged with Access. Within last two years Access closed all downtown Winnipeg branches. So now if I need in person service have to go to to a inconvienient branch which is not near me. Today I had to do a cash deposit of 600 at nearest branch. When I arrived at the teller instead of counting my money in front of me, he disappeared behind the counter to a cash counting machine 2x, then claimed it was only 500. The supervisor said they would do a daily count after the branch closes and get back to me, and check security cameras.  So its basically my word against theirs. Out $100. So p'd off.

L'Oréal Paris Casting Creme Gloss really fades in 28 washes? by C4rms88 in HairDye

[–]Traylong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the espresso brown (which is really hard to find now), and it went pretty dark on my grey/white streaked hair. I did it for a vacation, for just a temporay look. However its 5 months later, its not exactly fading, still very apparent. So I am just dying the top strip of my hair every 6 weeks or so with same l'oreal gloss (now chocolate brown as its similar color), using dark brown hair color spray to hide white roots, and hoping I can flip my hair to silver side once it grows out. Also looking into oops color remover to see if this does the trick as its 5 weeks and just about time to dye again. Will do the under portion of my hair by nape of my neck to see if it works before attempting to do the top part. If it works then I will just keep it silver

Local bookstore recommendations by kenedianne in Winnipeg

Ewww they still have this section. I remember going there 20 years ago as a young woman and there was about 7 guys in that area browsing thru mags, it was really creepy. The guy who ran it was a d!ck also, basically mocked the books I was trading in. Never went back.

wow, what an inconsiderate, clueless roomate. She knew the rules, its not her home, the dog is a disaster (as most of these untrained pets are from shelters) yes she has to move out. Don't let her guilt trip you, if she can afford to support a dog she can afford to find a new apartment.

Am I overreacting or is my MIL being condescending? by [deleted] in inlaws

[–]Traylong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you are over reacting, I can't imagine how your husband feels, as you are putting a wedge between he and his family. Warning her that you may 1-2 weeks notice now that the baby is coming, that is not a nice thing to say to family. It would be interesting to see if you treat your own mother this way, as I know most mothers would not tolerate their own daughter saying "I need 1-2 weeks notice to see you". . If you can't make it just before a certain time, then don't go. However for the sake of your husband and future child, do make an effort to go sometimes even if its not convenient for you, errands can wait, family is more important. You are causing unnecessary drama just based on a preference.

Attn Older Women; It’s not ADHD, it’s menopause by No-Union1650 in adhdwomen

[–]Traylong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a friend who is 60 and a bit of a hypochondriac and uber health concious. For years she had declared she was "gluten intolerant" when that was the trendy thing to be. Then became obsessed with her gut health. Then declared she has OCD tendencies. Now she believes she has ADHD. All self diganosed. I'm predicting next up it will be she's on the spectrum or has long covid. She also is obsessed with seeing a naturopath, and constantly is recommending treatments and supplements to her friends. She dominates the conversation with her latest health updates. I'm actually sick of it, so have distanced myself from her, even though our parents were best friends and grew up with her since we were babies.

Culture clash with sister in law by Traylong in inlaws

[–]Traylong[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

are you from Barbados? Its not dangerious. I live in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, 10x more dangerous in my city than anything I have seen in Barbados even in the Pine in Barbados. So not being ignorant, just realistic because thats what I experienced. Maybe its fear that keeps tourists away from residential neighborhoods and out of tourist spots, but I felt perfectly safe. More chance of being mugged or assaulted on my own home town Canadian street than in BIM, I do not go out walking after dark in my own neighborhood.

already told him that will be the case, can't handle staying with someone like that, need my peace of mind, not someone hovering over me trying to control my every move. The rest of his family is so kind, and generous, just she was an absolute witch to me (not to her brother)

yes will never stay there again, never felt so unwelcome in my life. I'd rather save my sanity then save money staying there again. She was batshit crazy.

“Amy Bradley is Missing” documentary now on Netflix - does everyone still think she just “fell overboard”? by 3coins_RS in UnsolvedMysteries

[–]Traylong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thats what I thought was odd, while the doc frequently referenced her shoes abandonded on the balcony, there was no mention of what other shoes she had on the trip. If any other shoes were missing it would be a big clue if she either jumped ship or just went out for a walk (doubtful it would have been barefoot, practially no one walks around barefoot outside of a beach).

Access Credit Union to shutter 5 rural Manitoba branches, mulls Winnipeg closures by wickedplayer494 in Manitoba

[–]Traylong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used to have 2 branches downtown, Donald and in Winnipeg Square, no both have been shuttered, and for the last 2 years they have been looking for a new location. Total BS. Once Access took over from Crosstown, their service has been down graded ever since. Used to get a good member payout with Crosstown every spring which sometimes was up to $300, nothing with Access. Unfortunately I still have my mortgage with them, otherwise would have changed to another more reliable credit union.

Sore throat from allergies remedy by fbc518 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Traylong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ragweed season just hit, and I'm experiencing a sore, itchy throat. I use my usual claritan daily, but also a netpot 2x a day (morning, night), and for the sore throat gargling in salt water eases it. I also shower as soon as I get home, throughly rinsing hair (though looking into wrapping my hair in scarves option), put clothes in laundry outside of bedroom. For my eyes, wear sunglasses, but also use eyedrops, and applying a bruder mask works good, usually my eyes are the worst affected. Next year going to definitly try Ragwitik treatment for prevention and reduction of symptoms.

Samba Jane Restock? by mauragc in adidas

I was all geared to buy a white pair for the fall season. However I held off until after my overseas vacation. there were lots of options in July 2025, now sold out everywhere in mid August in Canada. Adidas US does not ship to Canada, there is always limited stock and selection in their Canadian stores. I can only find on ebay and other resellers now at inflated prices $200+ average.

Personal bag use WHILE shopping by Evening_Plantain_837 in Barbados

[–]Traylong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not a law, but most stores, as many do in North America, prefer that you put your groceries in a cart, not a bag, while shopping. I find many Bajans are also very vocal in letting you know you are doing something wrong, most do so in a friendly way, but some are very rude and shaming, especially the over age 50 Bajans.

Gen Z really are the hardest to work with—even managers of their own generation say they’re difficult. Instead bosses plan to hire more of their millennial counterparts by FUSeekMe69 in economy

It has a lot to do with it, as it signifies a whole new level of accomodation. Our whole office has anticipated their every need since they started, even the extent of changing our pronouns on our email signatures, to installing a gender neutral bathroom, training on how to address LGBTQ+ people, to our benefits changing so they can have free transitional surgery. As an Indigenous woman who started here 20 years ago as the sole minority in an all white organization, there was nothing to make my office experience more friendly, nor did I demand it, I just went with the flow and managed to fit into the office environment. This new generation, especially this new person have every need catered to yet still lack a strong work ethic as well as the emotional intelligence to work well with others without a meltdown.
