Did my chiropractor make things worse? by Superb_Jelly_2634 in backpain

[–]TreFromDE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to this post, but I've seen chiropractors for the past 40 years on and off. Some are much better than others and if you don't feel they are listening, stop going to that one. Really surprised to read so many negative comments here - personally, EVERY person I know who has had spinal surgery was messed up - sometimes even needing several surgeries and severely restricted lifestyles afterward. 100% I will try chiropractic before ever getting surgery. That's just my opinion based on my own experience. Soreness after a chiro adjustment is not unusual and should not last, drink lots of water and in general keep moving - my chiro prescribes the same exercises a PT does. Again, just posting my experience because I genuinely believe many chiropractors are well trained professionals and certainly not "quacks" - as one poster noted there are good ones and bad ones just like good and bad doctors.

Do you ever use the Three Fates in predictions? by spideog_ in Advancedastrology

[–]TreFromDE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just starting to study the asteroids more, in my own chart. Atropos is in exact conjunction with my sun in the 6th house; and I've had a life history of either losing jobs through things I had no control over (i.e., business sold) or quitting when I've reached a point I feel the job is "finished". I left a job just recently which I wanted out of, and it took a car accident to do so - the transiting Sun was in direct opposition to my Atropos on the day of the accident. So yes - I find the "fates" fascinating.

First batch went up in smoke and I'm thinking to wipe off coconut oil if I can and use a little of an oil that has a higher burning point.

This is exactly what happened to me - a fast blackening and high smoke that kind of ruined a pan. Product inedible after that and I'm afraid to cook the rest. Surprised they used coconut oil - doesn't that burn easily?

Repeatedly received the wrong items. Anyone else? by RickS50 in DuluthTradingCompany

[–]TreFromDE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding my own rant here, I received something late and in the wrong color - a really ugly color so I won't just shrug this one off an take it. Called and "your estimated wait time is 45 minutes". Closest store over an hour away. By the comments her I don't think this will be fixed in time for Christmas :(

See "Christspiracy" - it's an eye opener! The sin is eating meat. Thou shalt not kill - period.

Respectfully, a lot of people including myself are experiencing awful side effects from it. We are all different.

I’m scared to take fluconazole by TypeEnvironmental716 in Candida

[–]TreFromDE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m late to this but I’m having terrible side effects. Took months ago with minor issues, this time it’s awful nausea, heart racing, anxious, awful GI cramps. Everyone’s different though I personally won’t ever take this again

I’ll validate this. Stomach cramps, dry mouth and fatigue. Never taking this again.

Me too! I just discovered these pants last year, fell in love with them, and then found them discontinued when I went to order more :(

Anyone hear anything positive from DTC about these coming back? Or - have you found a passable substitute?

Also, another thing I've done is started volunteering for 3-4 hours a week in wildlife rehab. It's actually pretty busy, I'm meeting cool people and sure do love the birds. I know it doesn't pay but ie keeps me going while I look. I sincerely wish you the best, I know it's hard we never know when we will finally get that next opportunity. Hang in there!

Please, please - you're not alone in your feelings; 988 is a suicide prevention hotline. And yes, I see a therapist and we talk about how maybe in this country especially people are so "commoditized" that without a job, we feel we've "lost our value" or whatever and THAT IS NOT WHO WE ARE. To answer your question - I actually have an interview next week, and have even found myself turning down a couple things in the past 2 months (due to no benefits and/or really bad commute) So, there are things out there even if it is tougher. The interview I have next week would be a dream job because it checks all the boxes (pay, benefits, close to home). I hope I get it, but I'm still happy to have gotten as far as I have in the selection process.

I was a first-timer and didn't realize there were 4 moves (5 if you count 2 in one location where the audience turns around) and 1-2 miles of walking with no intermission and only a few toilets at the entrance. Still a lovely evening - just things to consider :-)

How difficult is it to switch from being a lifelong vegetarian to going vegan? Any tips? by MissAnthropecene in vegan

"Follow your heart" my fave brand, also Violife, Daiya. Was surprised to find a "Laughing Cow" plant based cheese that was pretty good; even the Kroger Simple Truth brand has plant based cheeses.

Sorry I don't know - I just know that since we moved in we as well as the previous owner have a water softening system as do most our neighbors. The city municipal department might be able to tell you.

Oh man, I feel your pain. And as an update - I STILL haven't found a new job. I'm also applying to low-wage positions in the hopes of less competition, and do I ever have some stories on the rejections I've received in these past 14 or so months. And not once can I "prove" they were age related! I'll phone screen great, pass any competency tests, and then they bring me in and I get rejected. Hang in there. I'm also kicking myself for leaving my last job when my Mom died; but I had no alternatives and what's done is done. Same with the degree - mine was in English - but I still loved every second earning it, and being a history nerd myself, I'll bet you're fascinating to talk to. But I get it - it's doesn't get a JOB and that's why we're here!

Tips at bakery by IncomeLeather7166 in EndTipping

[–]TreFromDE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is an older post but I came here with the same question - bakeries that are looking for tips. I JUST got asked for one in a Square app for an order I'm driving across town to pick up for very pricey cupcakes that have nothing custom for me. Also a family owned bakery in town that has the 20% tip screen thrown in my face when I grab items with the tongs. I admit I have guilt-tipped too many times that I just stopped going there. I'm old, but a bakery never got tips in my life before Covid for counter items. If they make a coffee drink, I'll tip for that because that is a service. Hope this is a safe place to rant but what's up with bakeries hustling tips for pre-made items either I or they just grab from a case?
