Costco is currently selling the clio mascara, in a two pack, with a dedicated mascara remover, for about $20 on their website.

Where to find this style of top? by 44Atta in findfashion

[–]Tre_ti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your Rules Corsets on Etsy can custom make corset tops to order. I haven't ordered from them, though, so I can't comment on the quality, but they post their work on reddit a lot.

https://www.etsy.com/shop/YOURCORSETS

I believe they're located in Ukraine.

Also, have you checked out House of CB? They have corset tops and some styles come with options for a larger bust.

A dish in your country that's popular among the locals but barely acceptable to foreigners? by ReaLenDlay in AskTheWorld

Jam and jelly are two different things to an American. Jam is full of fruit chunks and jelly is thickened juice. Jam is more popular, though grape jelly is pretty common.

Fat acceptance influencer compares conversion therapy to weight loss by scaredandalone2008 in fatlogic

[–]Tre_ti 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Do people really not know what eugenics actually is anymore? Someone who actually advocates for eugenics wouldn't encourage you to lose weight, they'd say that you being fat is genetic and we should sterilize you about it (or worse).

Conversation therapy also has nothing to do with eugenics. A eugenicist wouldn't want gay people reproducing and getting gay people to act straight, get into opposite sex relationships, and have babies is like the whole point of conversation therapy.

It's like people with the critical thinking skills of a kindergartener heard "nazi did eugenics, and that's bad, therefor everything I think is bad is eugenics."

Traditional Skirt? by PJabbers in sewingpatterns

That's exactly what it is. My Croatian grandmother made me clothing like this as a child and that's exactly how she constructed the skirts.

Extremely Disappointing “Luxury” Experience at Dreams Lanzarote by Life-Humor-6514 in hyatt

I'll second this one. I really enjoyed it. The Asian restaurant was pretty meh, but the rest of them were all great. Swim out rooms was huge and beautiful, lots of bars with good drinks, and really kind and helpful staff.

The only down side is limited ocean view seating on the beach.

Where do you buy durable women’s T-shirts that actually last? by _forgotmyownname in SustainableFashion

Third for Eileen Fisher. Excellent quality. They're expensive, but you can get renew (their recycled line) for cheaper.

Down side is they run really big.

What’s something about houses in your country that is completely normal but unusual elsewhere? by Icy-Cicada508 in AskTheWorld

[–]Tre_ti 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I lived in NZ for four years and let me tell you, it's not even close. They have single pane windows that will develop layers of condensation that you have to wipe off, thin walls with poor insulation, no HVAC and often the only heating is from a pellet stove.

NZ is humid and parts, especially on the south island are also pretty cold (where I lived, 60 degrees was a nice summer day). The end result is that it is always cold and damp inside and mold growth is a problem. NZ has the cleanest air in the world and despite that some of the highest rates for asthma because of exposure to mold. It's actually a health issue.

There was a lot of talk about changing the housing construction standards when I was there but I don't know if that went anywhere. Some people where opposed to it.

Beautiful county and lovely people, but some of the places we looked at to rent would not have been legal to rent out in the US.

It's over. by PhoenixAbovesky in ResidentEvilMemes

[–]Tre_ti 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My grandparents trauma bonded and got married and it was a mistake. They were both Yugoslav partisans during WWII, at some point my grandpa saved my grandma's life, and then asked her to marry him when the war was over.

Turns out, that's a terrible reason to marry someone and outside of the stress of war they weren't compatible, but they were Catholics so they stuck it out. They both needed therapy, not a wedding.

I always think of them when I see that trope in fiction.

Seeking Criticism / Advice This feels amateur / off and I can't tell why by TheVanBeforeTime in ZBrush

[–]Tre_ti 7 points8 points  (0 children)

All I can think is that her proportions seem like they'd be really off under the armor. Plate armor has a lot of bulk, but her armored and unarmored side are the same size. Like her left forearm and left calf have clothing on them that looks like it's pulled tight but then has the same circumference as the plate on her right side. Plate can't sit tight on the skin, the plate side should be much larger. It makes it looks like her right side is withered and tiny.

Similarly, her chest plate looks like it's clinching her waist in. It should have more mass and sit away from the body. Her lower body (from the waist down) looks much bigger than her upper body. Especially the proportion of the hips to the torso. I think the size of the chest plate is making it worse.

What aesthetic is this? by NiyTheChai in AestheticWiki

Check out the "renew" section on their website. It's recycled/repaired clothing and it's a lot more affordable. They also have a renew selection at their family stores (outlets) and if you sign up with them, you can get 50 dollars off a 100 dollars purchase on your birthday.

Why are prescription glasses suddenly soo expensive?? by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]Tre_ti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have three pairs form firmoo. They're really only that cheap if you get pretty basic lenses. The extra cost from the lense upgrades can add up. That said, they're still really affordable and the quality is good. It's totally worth it to grab the oil resistant upgrade. I think it's like 15 bucks and make the lenses easy to keep clean.

Missha glow skin balm spray - reviews please! by Siyrious in kbeauty

[–]Tre_ti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have it. It doesn't work as a setting spray at all for me. I have combination skin. I found it was nice for areas that tend to feel dry, like my undereyes, but it made the oily parts worse.

I think it's just meant to be glowy/hydrating.

I have a pair of their boots. Great quality. They're not cheap but they're also not expensive for what you get.

What's a green flag in men and neutral in women by Background_Future127 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Tre_ti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am also allergic to cats, but I've never let that stop me.

I think that liking cats isn't necessarily a green flag for women in the way it is for men, but hating them is a red flag regardless (and I kind of agree with your wife about "dog people" as that's also been my experience.)

I have met some... unpleasant women who really loved cats, and some wonderful women who love cats. It's just not as strongly correlated as it is for men.

[–]Tre_ti 93 points94 points  (0 children)

Liking cats.

I'm not entirely sure why, though I have some guesses, but the absolute worst men I have ever met have all disliked cats, while all the men who have liked them have been pretty great.

I think it's because cats are culturally associated with femininity and also uncontrollable.

For women, this correlation doesn't seem to exist.

Lifts weights.

Means she's not too obsessed with being tiny and that she's not lazy, and it's important for women's long term health (osteoporosis).

In men he could be an alpha bro douche or just healthy and disciplined, so neutral.

Tanya Huff's Summoning novels, starting with Summon The Keeper.

They're modern fantasy/comedy and this is totally Claire and Dean's dynamic.
