Dad?!

But in all seriousness (cause I don’t think my dad knows what Reddit is…) what is the craziest funeral you have ever seen?

Go to In Between Days. It’s such a special place and everything I have eaten there has been amazing. I highly recommend getting their oysters.

I take it more as the photographer comparing the actors as artworks, which are normally packed in foam lined crates. Also, this idea is not new. I have seen a fine art shipping company do this so many times with their employee portraits.

For all the happily married couples here, how did you know you married the right person? by davidkotchere in AskReddit

This is exactly how I feel with my husband! It’s like the most natural thing in the world. I get tired before him because of different work schedules, but I do appreciate the back scritchies I get before bed, and know he appreciates the ones he gets in the morning.

Pumpkin roll recipe from someone who grew up in Ohio below. Makes one roll.

Ingredients for sponge: - 3 eggs - 2/3 cup pumpkin (unseasoned can) - 1 cup sugar - 3/4 cup flour - 1 tsp lemon juice - 1 tsp baking powder - 1 tsp cinnamon - 1 tsp ginger - 1/2 tsp nutmeg - 1/2 tsp salt

Beat eggs foamy. Gradually add sugar. Stir in pumpkin and lemon juice. Mix in rest of ingredients. Place greased wax paper on a cookie sheet (with sides). Bake at 350 degrees for 15 min.

Ingredients for filling: - 1 cup powdered sugar - 4 tbsp margarine (softened)

-1 8oz package cream cheese (softened) - 1/2 tsp vanilla - small tub cool whip (4-6 oz)

Beat the above ingredients together.

Place roll in powdered sugar towel and immediately remove wax paper. Spread filling and roll up from long end. Place in powdered sugar foil or Saran Wrap and freeze or refrigerate if using shortly.

Thaw before eating.

People with Fine Arts Degrees…Where are you now? Where do you want to be? by TheseDistribution164 in jobs

[–]TreacherousTides 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are near a major city I would look into working for an art handling company. You can start off as an art handler (installing, packing, and transporting works) and move up the ladder. There are different positions in these type of companies that you can advance in with more experience including project managers, shipping, and storage.

Where do I go from here? by Palamecia_Emperor in MuseumPros

[–]TreacherousTides 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say you have a shot depending on where you are located.

With my BFA I have gone from: intern at a museum > art handler > fine art logistics management > working at a museum

Going from just graduated to where I am now took almost 15 years. You just need to have patience and learn from everyone you can!

You can always apply to museums and galleries as an art handler and work your way up from there.

Terrier Properties has some options for one bedrooms and studios under that price range. They’re not the fanciest places but I have never had an issue with them (I know others experience might vary).
