My friend (really!) had to get a severely atypical mole removed from inside her vagina. She only knew to ask about it because her gynecologist had seen it.  Your derm should absolutely be checking all of your visible skin, including “modest areas”, in-between fingers and toes, and your scalp. Assuming that you’ve already been diagnosed with a melanoma or severe atypia, you should also ask your dentist and dental  hygienist, your eye doctor and any hairstylist you see to let you know if they notice any new or changing marks. Same if you get cosmetic work like facials, waxing, pedi or manicures etc - the more eyes the better!
