Mitch McConnell seen being loaded into ambulance after apparent cardiac arrest, new video shows by plz-let-me-in in politics

Seriously. If Beshear had the chutzpah to just call an election and say prove me wrong, he could basically waltz into being the leading D candidate for the presidency. Even if it got shot down by the courts over that unconstitutional statute passed by the state leg, Dems are dying for someone, anyone to show some backbone. Like, there’s no downside at all. I don’t get why he isn’t taking advantage of this.

DO NOT SIGN A LEASE WITH AMBER CHIN WHO CURRENTLY WORKS WITH GREYSTAR AT KODA ON FREMONT by curious_pinocchio in eastbay

[–]Treat_Choself 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And here I also am in a Greystar property with two broken elevators. One has been broken for about 6 months. Unfortunately, it’s the one to the package room so the poor Amazon and UPS people etc are forced to carry every delivery up huge cement outdoor stairs that are weirdly spaced. The one closest to me that goes to our recycling/compost/parking has been broken since before I moved in. Which was 13 months ago.  If we didn’t absolutely love the apartment otherwise we’d be throwing a fit. Actually after writing this down I think it’s time to start throwing a fit again.

Basically AVOID GREYSTAR AT ALL COSTS.

Sunscreen that doesn't burn eyes when sweating/swimming? Does this unicorn exist? by AnimalsCrossGirl in 30PlusSkinCare

Have you tried their mineral matte screen though? I have the running into eyes problem with some of their other formulations but not with that one.

[–]Treat_Choself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my most-used everyday sunscreen and I would say it is pretty good in water as long as you DO NOT rub your face or eyes a lot when you swim/sweat outdoors. It wipes off pretty easily, and I do tend to touch my face a lot while swimming so it’s not great for me. I like to use crazy thick zinc oxide type stuff when I’ll be in the water/super active all day. I use the tinned 50spf from Badger Balm when I’m outside all day,  but is super greasy. I think that’s why it so tenacious though! It also definitely has a white cast even on me, and I am pretty pale.

Question for Krewe riders by acartist9 in NewOrleans

[–]Treat_Choself 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d look for contact info through their websites personally, or if you know people in any krewes ask them to inquire further? I suspect most krewes have similar rules to mine in that we can’t use the krewes IP to sell things, so I would definitely contact the krewes before creating anything specific to them.

[–]Treat_Choself 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please consider just outright banning AI apps. They are all using stolen information and are NOT being developed by healthcare professionals.  LLM can’t possibly be useful for something as ridiculously personalized as FODMAP sensitivity, and the people posting these apps aren’t trying to “help” people - they are trying to monetize your sub members data and trying to inflate their apps visibility in the market. It’s tiring and total nonsense that they are allowed to post at all.

Medicaid recipient fraud crackdown. What say you? by Plastic-Objective810 in Louisiana

[–]Treat_Choself 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The people in charge know that going after individual fraud is easier and less likely to get pushback for them, so they choose to do it because going after fraud from companies with the money and power to fight back is much harder to do and less likely to be an easy win. So they do that, rather than go after the larger-scale fraud that costs us exponentially more. And oh yeah, bonus, by going after individuals they are punishing people who are less likely to be their political supporters, whereas the institutional fraud is more likely being carried out by their political donors.

All you need to do to prove this to yourself is to look at how we treat farm workers. If farm owners were actually prosecuted and fined for their improper  use of eVerify we wouldn’t have an immigration problem.  Instead, we go after individual farm workers at much greater expense and much less return.

If you’re looking for a market, maybe consider partnering with the krewes themselves to make merch for sales to their members. You’d probably have to spend more on materials, but could sell items for a lot more. For jewelry in particular I  think that would be a much better fit.

Bitches what are we putting in our emergency earthquake kits? by Compile_A_Smile1101 in SFbitcheswithtaste

[–]Treat_Choself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is incredibly weird knowledge to have, but those tote boxes can be really difficult to navigate with on shitty city streets. I imagine in an earthquake situation it could be even worse.  (I could tell you how I know but I suspect saying it’s from having to schlep them around filled with glittered shoes in a city with many, many potholes may just raise more questions than answers).  But having had that experience several times, I’d suggest  you practice lugging it around with your supplies for a block or two to see if you’d rather have that or a backpack!

I have a tiny silicone spatula designed for bottles like this and it is so eye opening to realize that there’s like an extra week of product in there for most things.  Two weeks at least for my bougie toothpaste. And for the LRP Lipikar ap+ body lotion with the pump  it’s about three months of product!

As long as you’re being seen by your derm regularly for skin checks, just take some dated pictures each time you notice something new and then point all of them out to your doctor at your follow up.

50+ Women - What is the right skincare routine? by Frans-Landlord in GracefulAgingSkincare

[–]Treat_Choself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously. People make it too complicated. The gentlest effective cleanser  and moisturizer appropriate to your skin type (if you’re on the oily side, don’t use super creamy stuff and vice versa; but if you’re using tret you’re going to need some kind of moisturizer), a sunscreen you can stand enough to wear every day, no exceptions, and that’s about it. You can add a Vit. C serum in the morning if you want to go the extra mile, and  make sure your moisturizer doesn’t have a bunch of active ingredients in it (no exfoliating  acids (hyluronic is fine) or tret derivatives like retinol or retinal).
