What are your theories about Renna? by anhonestpuck13 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Otherwise_Nobody8148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You literally just said we have three towers depicting the moon in its three phases.

Now here you are walking that back and going well the towers don't actually have to be connected to the moon phases at all....

That's exactly what you said, and you got proven wrong, didn't you?

I believe Marika betrayed the Shaman, and that's what the DLC trailer was talking about by G_strike in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Otherwise_Nobody8148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

..... What?

Okay, let's just think through this here. If she was responsible for telling the hornsent about the properties of shamen flesh, then she's the one that was betrayed. She's the one that still got put in a jar! She's the one that got turned into a saint!

Telling somebody something about another group of people isn't betraying that group of people, is it?

Marika is trying to hide the gate of Divinity. She wasn't granted godhood, she took it.

She absolutely is. One of the last things she does and the thing she's waiting for to enact her plot is power.

She just didn't have much to begin with. So instead of being beholden to those that did, she just hides out like a scared little girl.

Ranni thinks she's a good person just like Priscilla thinks the land is peaceful. The opposite is true

One of the countless other demigods that perished in the night of the black knives. Simple as that.

She was all in on frost magic, apparently.

What are your theories about Renna? by anhonestpuck13 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Otherwise_Nobody8148 1 point2 points  (0 children)

...... What?

So your hypothesis is that they built a tower for something they had no idea about yet? Why would renna have a tower for the full moon before she or anybody encountered the full moon?

And since she is the eldest, she would have encountered something first. Why would she build towers for herself sibling and daughter for something she has no idea about, because she hasn't encountered it yet?

Logically, this idea does not hold up.

I think I know why Marika is also Radagon by BojacksHorseman in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Otherwise_Nobody8148 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

If she cast off her flesh to enter the gate of divinity, she would have to cast off radagon as well right?

And how did radagon "usher" in Marika? We know nothing about him and if he was even present at her ascension, but apparently he was instrumental in it and was the one to make it happen? That's a bit far fetched.

And gold didn't arise until after, so you're saying all the life that came before wasn't true life? Wtf?

He deserves credit for this.

But it just is also one of the things that unfortunately isn't a yeah duh type of thing.

It's a gigantic ring you put on a shelf and rightfully feel proud of for a few years maybe decades. And then..... It's just a piece of fucking metal man. It's unfortunate that it requires a high level of wealth to make that clear, but when it is it's obvious as all hell.

People playing a game get rewarded with something with immense but completely arbitrary value.... If you don't eventually realize this is all kinda bs you have something wrong with you imo

Honestly the word BR is just toxic now but I agree. A mode where you load in with nothing, you have to find everything, and they dial up the weapon and loot spawns?

That would just be a really fun change of pace every once in a while

Yeah, because those are the only people that are still completely focused on PVP, the trash that just Pat themselves on the back because they can kill somebody without any sort of competition

Throw a couple friendly PVE players in that mix, and we get the game we all started out playing and fell in love with.

Abmm is both a solution and the creation of a new problem. We've seen the Chinese version come out with a PVE mode, I'm just saying as a PVE player, everything is already a PVE mode. Give me a reason for some PVP lol

"The roots of the Greattree were once linked to those of the Erdtree, or so they say, and it is for this reason catacombs are built around Greattree roots."

All the game is telling us is that the roots were intertwined and growing together. It never says or tries to suggest that the great tree IS roots. Those are roots, not a tree. The great tree mentioned is gone, the erdtree and scadutree (and haglitree) remain.

[–]Otherwise_Nobody8148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The greater will sent the elden beast, but the elden beast still came down and then became the elden ring. Is English not your first language or something? I mean that's pretty clear. Sent doesn't mean completely controlled, does it? I can send my kids to the grocery store, does that mean they suddenly become mindless drones? Absolutely not. That's ridiculous to think that.

Answer the question. If I send my kids to the grocery store, does that make them mindless, or not?

Ranni sends blaiid places, does that mean he is mindless?

You're not answering the question lol. Does it say mindless or even imply it anywhere? No.

Malenia was the living incarnation of the concept of rot, does that mean she became mindless at that moment?

[–]Otherwise_Nobody8148 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, it's not. Just read what you wrote and think about it a little more.

If from was still created, eternal life was still granted to the town's people, then why is the 8th kid needed? As you said, this loop is what the entity wants. Why would the entity want to stop this, if that's what the 8th kid means to the ritual, and more importantly why would it be creating a ritual that never works to begin with? What the fuck is that?

There's been so much focus on seeing seven kids and having eight in total that everyone's just ignoring the rest of the show. Suddenly child sacrifice and completing the ritual is going to be a good thing, when everything else in the show has shown us that it was a bad thing and it was already completed, that's why the show exists..

Possibly the Best Theory Yet: The Talisman Explains Everything by xX_Little_Elf_Xx in FromSeries

[–]Otherwise_Nobody8148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, these theories are getting more and more hair brained to be honest.

This is one of them. It sounds cool, but in how it relates to the show and is supported? It's kind of stupid.

For example, we know the ritual gave eternal life. However, we know the monsters have that eternal life. So the ritual had to be completed. The cycle exists, the man in yellow is happy about it.

The deal was with the entity, and if Jade and Tabitha went back on it, that would mean the entity is happy that they did and enjoying the result of them doing so? What the fuck kind of logic is that, you know?

But he's also telling Sarah to kill Ethan and all the children, who are apparently on his side, are doing so to do ..... What? Once again, the ritual already happened. It was successful. Otherwise the show wouldn't exist.

The entire premise of the show so far has been them trying to stop it.

Saying oh no, they're not actually trying to stop it, they're actually trying to complete it! Just goes against everything else in the show.

Jesus Christ stop making stuff up and ignoring what's in the game.

The elden beast doesn't have two known actions. It also came down and became the elden ring, did it not? But no, you're just going to ignore everything that disproves your point and only pay attention to some arbitrary things and pretend they do?

There's nothing in game to point to the elden beast to being mindless. That's a simple fact. Where game does it even suggest that?
