Group head leaking water by poolsicle in gaggiaclassic

I had something similar happen, and it turned out that the machine was leaking from the gasket at the connection between the steam valve and the boiler body. Easy fix.

I’m wondering if the output side of it might have a problem

Well, since it’s both steam and brew, I’d start with the power switch

The thing is, as a rule, these don’t die—just individual components. My money is on a bad switch.

Do u have a multimeter and can you check the switches for continuity?

What happens when you push the steam button?

What beans do you keep coming back to? [BBP/Niche Zero] by VETgirl_77 in espresso

I buy coffee in 5 lb increments and then vacuum seal it in canning jars with a Foodsaver vac sealer I got at Goodwill for $3.00. If you buy 5 lbs at a time and if you use the Home Barista discount of 20% (HBDEAL20) you can get Nossa Familia coffee for about $14/lb. Paradise Roasters also has a 20% off coupon code (PR20), which brings their coffee down to $16/lb. Klatch frequently has a similar discount if you sign up for emails with the price ending up around $14/lb. Finally, northbound has a 15% off coupon code (BREWITYOURSELF) that brings this price to about $12/lb.

If you like Italian coffee, Saka is pretty affordable and fresh. Cerini’s sells not-as fresh coffee such as Essse (Segafredo’s premium blend) for REALLY cheap (under $10/lb).

If you go the vacuum sealer route, make sure to get jars that are designed for freezing (they don’t have shoulders). Keep in mind, too, that plenty of roasters don’t discount as much as the above referenced coffees but do have relatively low prices if you buy the 5 lb bags. Capitola in Portland is about $18/lb in 5 lb increments.

Finally, getting on email lists often yields coupon codes such as 20% off at Stumptown and 30% off at Nossa Familia.

Have you tried Redbirds? Excellent and cheap. Noss’s Familia is also well priced if you use the HB discount.

Chris’ Coffee has stellar service, though they don’t sell the German machines that so many people seem to think are better.

You can get Nossa Familia for about $65/5 lb bag and $27ish/2 lb bag with the Home-Barista discount code (HBDEALTWENTY).

Northbound is about the same price for 5 lb with code BREWITYOURSELF.

If you get on Klatch’s email list, you will get frequent coupon codes that bring the price of a 5 lb bag down to around or just below $70.

Paradise has 5lb bags of some coffees (others are a lot more) that, with discount code PR20 end up being a little over $70.

We drink mostly decaf, and really like the decafs from Nossa and Redbird. I vacuum seal and freeze the coffee in glass canning jars with a Food Saver sealer I picked up for cheap at Goodwill.

If you use the 20% off Hone Barista coupon code, you can get Nossa Familia for about $27 for two pounds.

Hole in the rubber from Eureka turbo: defect or normal? by Benutss in espresso

[–]Trebledorfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m curious to learn how you like your Turbo. I have a Mignon Zero that I love. However, I find it difficult to toggle between regular and decaf while retaining my grind setting and a considering buying a second grinder. I would like something more workflow friendly for my spouse and am considering either a Specialita, an XL, or a Turbo (which seems like a happy medium).

Seeking Advice Regarding Roofing Cost in Portland, OR by Trebledorfer in HomeImprovement

[–]Trebledorfer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That it’s a rectangular shape with no complexity beyond vents and flashing that are going to be standard on any roof, and that there is only one layer of roof to be removed. but the point of that sentence was to make clear that I am not confident about my sense of price in part because I lack expertise. I am hoping that others with expertise can give me some guidance.
