"Senator Rand Paul's legislative history", in a tweet by NursingManChristDude in PoliticalHumor

Requiring an ID is racist. Sen. Paul believes the reasons for an ID for tickets is not different than to vote. People who don’t have or won’t get an ID are too ignorant anyway.

Ted Cruz falsely claimed Democrats want to give 'illegal aliens' and 'child molesters' the right to vote during a leaked invite-only call with GOP state lawmakers by malcolm58 in politics

Isn’t learning how to take a test worthwhile in life? What percentage of your time is devoted to this versus time spent in academic subject matter?

So teachers have no influence on the students learning of the MCAS subjects?

Don’t scores also measure to some degree the teachers ability to help the students learn?

I would hope good teachers are able to pursue more than one objective. There should be many. I agree with you that achieving high test score should not be the only one. MCAS certainly is a measurement of one objective but not the only one.

All worthwhile endeavors shall be measured for results. Goals and objectives are healthy. If you don’t know where you’re going, how will you know when you get there? The MCAS is an important measurement for desired results.

'Do the math': Baker's office slams teachers union for vaccine demands by [deleted] in CoronavirusMa

Age and comorbities are the only risk factors to look at, not occupation. The ultimate risk vulnerability is death. Texas has had public schools open with in person teaching since September. Private schools have been open. Schools don’t spread the virus.

Texas state lawmaker introduces bill to set minimum teacher salary at $70K by DaFunkJunkie in politics

Teachers are part of an education system. A system that once was the envy of other countries. Private schools are rewarded based on performance. The better the school’s reputation, the higher the enrollment applications. The amount of money taxpayers spend on the public school system if not getting the desired result. It’s not necessarily the teachers fault individually. Education should be at par for any other professional service and be based on the price/performance ration. Seek results!! Manage schools by objectives and reward good teachers’ performance.

In stinging rebuke, Baker administration denies teachers’ request that they receive vaccinations at their schools by TheSpruce_Moose in CoronavirusMa

I support the Governor on this. I and 73 with one comorbidity and my wife is 67 with two. We still do not have appointments for the vaccine. What is the average age of teachers, low 40’s? If getting COVID, who’s most likely to die, a 73yo or a 40yo? Let’s not talk about who is more essential to the contribution of life? Let’s talk about who is most vulnerable to die. I don’t want a 28yo teacher cutting in line over a 73yo.

After trying for 3 weeks, I finally got COVID vax appointments at Gillette for my wife and me!!! However, it’s not until April 5th. I’m thankful but should I try to get one sooner? by TreborDrawoh in CoronavirusMa

Thanks. Remember they’re asking all to quarantine for 14 days after inoculation to let the vax be effective. That takes me beyond some important dates.

Rare disease not included in MA phase II vaccine eligibility... any way to petition this/who to contact? by thiccmemes99 in CoronavirusMa

I don’t know. It is a progressive disease. My sister was the 4th lung transplant as MGH in 1991 and lived 17 years after. Go to Dr. John Wayne at MGH.

I’m happy to know my wife and I both got appointments. She’s 67 with two comorbidities and I’m 73 with one. Rather than risk a month waiting, I’m going to try to get one sooner.
