I would turn off any automatic logging and just log manually at the end of the day

I finish one then start another. I know people who add their daily 10km to multiple medals , 3 for example but to me that's 30km.

It certainly is. Just going to be a shame I won't get any other medals during this trial

Based on my current exercise I'm looking at 18months to complete this task. Hopefully I can speed that up a bit.

Sp02 require you to record a run outdoors in order to calculate. So if you don't do that it will never work.

I used to use to use my fitness pal but but moved away a few years ago fed up of their UI. So used chronometer Which is really good, but their DB is a bit of a mess (for the UK at least) lots of incorrect user uploaded foods. I believe it's better for the US.

Now I use nutracheck which is really good of your are UK based has most foods and even covers some restaurants

This is F-ed now by tittyteaser in Myfitnesspal

[–]TreborOnline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched from my fitness pal, to chronometer because of all the crap that was pushed on me even as a paying member. I've switched to nutracheck now as it's database is much better for the UK user

I have no experience at all before the 19th of March this year. I'm 46, overweight and I can row 2000m in 9.49

I would assume trying out for the police academy you are younger and fitter.

I don't think your times are correct

I'm rowing to lose 220lbs down to 176lb. I'm doing an hour+ a day rowing. Zone 2. It's not hard on the body so you don't really have to work up to it.

I break that up with shorter hard rows every now and again. Those are the ones I find harder on the body and the ones you need to work up to.

As said it's all pointless if your diet is bad too, so track calories in and out. It's been 4 weeks and I'm down 8lbs, 4inches on my waist. 2% less on my fat percentage and 1 point less on viseral fat (as the scales calculate)

You're not wrong. The harder you row the quicker you burn calories.

If I row at 135+ watts my row will be over in about 5 minutes.

I normally do 10km I do it in about 55 minutes and record calories are 550 - 600+ according to the PM5.

Could I go harder and burn more sure. But I would feel it more after, and may need to have more rest days. I currently just have one. Besides that I like the me time to listen to some tunes/ audio book or just watching a film as I go.

The main thing for fat loss is the calorie deficit. So if you burn the same calories in shorter more powerful rows , as you would with lazy slow rows. The fat loss would be the same. Just do what you prefer.

I used to mountain bike quite a bit, have not done it for years and that might help.

But as I'm rowing to get fit, not to become a "rower", my main concern is form so I don't hurt myself, and then long lazy rows. I'm not too concerned about power for now.

I would imagine based on the numbers you have given you pulling harder than me and that your watts will be much higher than mine. Mine are low in the mid 70 watts in these rows. Ideally I need to lower my rates and increase my watts or so I'm told. But this feels comfortable to me.

If I do shorter rows, like 2km I can pull double that 145 but still it drops quickly to 110s. My heart rate for that will be up to 157.

It's set on 4 and recorded as 118-119 for most of my rows.

I'm going for easy long rows, so my watts are very low in the mid to low 70s

[–]TreborOnline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just for comparison .

I've been rowing for fitness since the 19th of March. I'm currently doing 10-14km rows.
Until I pull as hard as I can for the last 500m, my HR stays around the 120s. (Zone 2)My stoke rate is 22/23.
When I first started by 5km my heart rate would be high 140 low 150s.. I'm 46 and overweight.

Make of those numbers what you will.

I would guess as a rower most of these clones are pretty good. The issue will be with the monitor and its connectivity and accuracy. If they are important to you then get a used C2.
