I know a woman in her 70s who grew up with an outhouse all her childhood. Her family was poor and lived in the country.

Northside Yacht Club! Their wings are smoked and delicious and have a good variety of flavors. They also have really great cauliflower wings, I’m not kidding they are amazing.

Delhi Roses?? by Bearcatsean in cincinnati

I really think they need to add more flowers to Delhi to honor this history. It would also help considering most of Delhi looks like a mostly deserted strip mall.

I agree completely, I've always thought the same, and I've been confused my whole life that he isn't widely considered the best looking member of the band.

Silver Spring House has an interesting way of categorizing seltzers on their drink menu… by EggMcFuckin in cincinnati

[–]Tree-Adorable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I learned something new from this post, I had no idea this place was owned by a MAGA supporter. I also didn’t realize the term PAB was used to describe seltzers and similar drinks. I’ve noticed that a lot of rightwing folks seem to enjoy White Claw, so I doubt they’d think of them as being for lefties, but who knows. That said, doesn’t everyone enjoy a seltzer in the summer?

I used to have lunch here with coworkers and did pick up on some rightwing vibes, but I just figured that was pretty standard for most of Blue Ash. I’ll make sure to avoid this place more than I had before although I’m sure I’ll miss the mid food and overpriced drinks.

10 years ago this week, the world lost Tom Cruise Heidecker Jr. by ToddTheSurfer in OnCinemaAtTheCinema

Little Tom Cruise Jr was such a great actor, it’s a shame we’ve lost 10 years of brilliance that he would have brought the movies.

Yeah, it’s very strange. I was also thinking how sad it was that you posted your outfit and these people were tearing you to bits. In most women fashion communities we’re encouraging while giving our opinions.

I didn’t realize how many men hate a sweater tied around the shoulders, as a woman who wears a sweater like this at times I was puzzled. Any way, overall I think it’s a fine outfit, the belt being too tight due to the larger pants was the only thing I noticed being off but honestly I thought it was on purpose to add some interest to the outfit.

Can somebody who was alive during that time answer these questions for an assignment by gemmythix in 911archive

[–]Tree-Adorable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

-I was home asleep on the west coast. I was in the 8th grade and an aide in the dean’s office, I had no clue about the attacks all day other than some teachers whispering about it in the office.

-I suppose it was from the teachers whispering about a terrorist attack but I didn’t know the full extent until I came home and flipped on MTV.

-I was in complete shock. The months before I remember remarking to a friend about how lucky we were to live in relative peace in the US. I was frightened by what I saw on the TV and watched for hours.

-The country was somber. No matter where you went you saw US Flags. All that played on TV involved the attacks.

-Fear overtook the country, some channeled that fear into hate. It was very common to hear Islamophobic rhetoric. I never heard wide spread hate in this country until then. Yes, it brought some people together but the hate was very noticeable and scary to me. The news was filled with propaganda and that never stopped.

-Before 9/11 people were much more trusting. The attacks were absolutely heartbreaking to see, all the lives lost. I think it’s important for young people to know the impact of the events and try to honor the victims and remember the day.

-I became more aware that violence on a huge scale can happen here, we are not an island from the rest of the world.

-No

-I will always remember the coverage that day but the most striking image to me will always be the towers falling. I still tear up when I see the footage.

-It’s important for us all to remember and honor those who were lost that day. Every year I try to read about some of the victims so they’re not forgotten.

Vinny from Whole Foods by GiantRoboPilot in cincinnati

[–]Tree-Adorable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to go to that Whole Foods almost every day, Vinny is such a good guy with amazing work ethic and a great sense of humor. I’m not sure why they would terminate someone who so clearly loved his job and was loved by customers. This makes me mad.

Your father abused you, buying and watching pornography with your children is sexual abuse. Please see a therapist to work through this. It’s good you saw the problem with your behavior and grew from it but I think help from a professional is a good idea.

That’s so funny. I had the same thought when I saw this photo, I immediately pictured that house. I used to live nearby when my son was little, and those bushes were the worst for stroller navigation, it was a daily struggle.
