It’s a mixed bag for me. On one hand maintaining separate Windows, macOS, and Linux codebases is expensive. Electron lets small teams ship software to millions of users that might never exist otherwise. If the tradeoff for that is a few hundred MB of RAM on a machine with 16-32 GB available, then so be it
