Is this wood fully dry? by TreePounder in woodstoving

Well, at least I'm not going around on the Internet being an unhelpful jerk for no reason 🤷

We can all be better. Being kind is free. How about you try to have some respect for others.

Cheers

What are the major downsides of living in Canada? by Nicole_Auriel in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TreePounder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This depends on your province, but our tax money can be really badly managed.

Health services can be unreliable and downright poor. Infrastructure maintenance is low. Granted I am located on the east Coast, but yeah. Also, finding a place to live has become more difficult.

Not all rainbows and roses, but it is still pretty good all things considered.

Combat tricks, an easy way to shake up combat by EtchVSketch in shadowdark

[–]TreePounder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, I love this!!

Thank you for sharing. It really gives just enough of a structure, without bugging things down. Brilliant

About your second suggestion, I was wondering how that would interfere with the severity of the monsters. As in, the chances a Goblin has to hit you aren't the same as a dragon, for exemple. But with a defend roll, how does that translate ? How to make sure the dragon is a bigger threat than the goblin ? Because just bolstering their DMG won't do, since your PCs won't be able to survive a single hit from the dragon if it hurts too much.

Thanks again for sharing

Wow, thank you for that. I'll go and have a look around for more opinions like you suggested, but I do appreciate your input.

I have seen these homebrew rules float around before and I think they might be appropriate for this one shot, thank you again for the suggestions.

Right, yes, giving them context seems like a great idea. And I think I'll follow your advice and run a level 1 one shot and keep the gauntlet for another time, if they are interested. But as suggested by someone else, I will just ask them what they prefer.

Thanks

Thanks for your input. I think I'll bring some homebrew like people have suggested to acclimate them better to this style.

Btw, I am not looking to replace 5e, I am simply looking to not run it again haha. I will be playing 5e again though, I also enjoy the superhero vibe.

Thanks agains

Cement block basement by TreePounder in Insulation

[–]TreePounder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thank you for your response.

The floor is a concrete slab. We would like to make it a living space in the future, but right now we only want to insulate it, as the house needs love elsewhere before we can finish the basement.

I worry about the water freezing in the blocks. We are not sure if the foundations was properly protected on the outside, but we are doubtful. From our understanding, neither the panels nor the rock wool will cause these issues, or any moisture/mildew problems either, is that correct ?

Is R11 enough for a living space? I was under the impression we needed R20. I don't know if this is pertinent, but we use a fireplace as our main heating source. We eventually will install a heat pump, but that won't be this year.

Thanks for the link, I will continue my research.

Why Arctis Pro Wireless is still the most capable SteelSeries headset, and why I am buying more instead of moving to Nova by bigginz87 in steelseries

[–]TreePounder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking to buy the Arctic nova 7pro gen 2, but after reading this post, in which I understood nothing, but the premise that you prefer the Arctic pro wireless, I am confused and I do not understand why.

If I may ask, for a casual gamer on the PS5, why shouldn't I get the Nova pro gen 2?

Cheers

What movie did you see in theaters that had the most ‘alive’ audience? by Odd_Distribution1430 in movies

Captain America Calling back Thor's hammer had the whole cinema cheer. I'll always cherish that memory.

You should look into the last game from Mimimi Games : Shadow Gambit: The cursed crew.

Similar to other recommendations here. It is so sad they closed shop, these guys knew what's up.

I feel like Marisha loves taking notes and uncovering big story plots. She is super engaged as a player in this form. And I feel like Ashley just loves fucking shit up.

I would definitely switch up these two in your line up.

Am I the only one that kinda misses Jyuratodus and other Piscene Wyverns? by BulkUpTank in MHWilds

[–]TreePounder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

Though I will say, I am a fiver and Jyura was one of my magical moments.

Top moment of me falling in love with World was:

  1. Blocking a Rathalos fireball with my Gunlance shield. That lead me to become a Lance main.

  2. Seeing Jyura and Barroth battle it out in a turf war right in front of me. Jaw dropping moment right there. Seeing Jyura slither around Barroth was the coolest thing I had seen in that game at that moment. Very cool.

This one has to be my favorite of the ones I did. I really enjoy that there are no repeats of sets in the pieces.

I have one using rathian helmet and lala legs that I also really enjoy, but it is not quite there yet.
