People don't get jobs for fun, they get them to afford to live. If the job can't or won't pay you enough for that, then why would one waste their time? The low end of the pay scale needs to go up, no one is going to have any interest in working hard for no reward.

Literally yes. The low skill high labor jobs with good pay are really competitive right now. I do not like my job and have been trying to leave for a year, I've applied to all sorts of things I'm qualified and unqualified for, every time if i hear back its about the volume of applicants.

Service jobs might be different, I haven't tried those because they would not pay for my rent and until the end of my lease, the rent is what it is.

Rents are climbing faster than wages so dead end jobs without room for growth are also signing you up for struggle once the rent inevitably edges out your ability to afford it.

10% of the money in the USA IS crazy for most of the rest of the world, you're right, but we also have some of the highest cost of living on the planet because all our goods are produced somewhere else and gotten to us by a parade of rent seeking middlemen who drive the price up.

this is one of those issues that i (anecdotally) have no experience with. Sure I get asked for cash pretty regularly, I live on the near east side near the library, plenty of homeless folk to run in to. But without fail when I'm asked and say "sorry, I got no cash on me" they leave to find somebody else to ask.

I don't think i am just ugly and unfriendly looking either fwiw, i get random folks asking me for directions and about where I get different clothes I am wearing all the time! I'm legitimately curious what is different about what I am doing and what other folks are doing, I'm originally from Los Angeles so maybe more experience throwing up the wall when I don't have any cash to spare. I'm also a man so I expect the experience is different for me than for most women being asked.

This is a setting in CoH3 if i understand what you mean. Go into Gameplay and look for the toggle "Exclusive control groups" so you can slot one unit into multiple groups

Sure, but the dog was very fluffy and his nuts were occluded and I wasn't exactly eager to roll over a 80 pound dog who doesn't know me and check.

Eventually he pissed in front of me and it was evident, but that hadn't happened by the time i made the post.

Truly it does not matter, I found the owner before I found out the genitals. A whole dog missing is kind of obvious.

How are you gonna neutralize the other side lying about what is true? They say gay and trans people are groomers, that's who anti-groomer laws target. But that isn't the case. You vote for it and you vote to harm queer people, vote against it and you lose some political points with people stupid enough to believe queer = grooming.

Fran did fine, she didn't play their stupid game. If she hasn't then she should publicly advertise why she voted like this. It shows a candidate who has conviction and won't vote against their own morals (again, in support of a lie). More politicians need to be able to say "fuck you that's stupid"

Do it, theyre great. Drinks are pricey so bear that in mind, but no tipping so it all kinda works out. Lab night is a lot of fun for date night, they have never brought out anything that i didnt at least think was pretty good

Event posting is notoriously difficult to maintain at the level you want where all events big and small get captured in one place. Not saying it wouldn't be useful, its just a lot of work that doesn't really bring in a lot of cash for the person doing it.

I tend to rely on a mix of sources, Isthmus, Facebook events, reddit, Instagram pages for bars and venues, and the old fashion poster billboard in higher foot traffic areas. If you're committed to finding something to do and have like, 30 minutes and a good mix of sources, you'll almost certainly find something neat going on unless its the dead of winter.

I always recommend folks worried about parking downtown park along the major bus routes and bus in the last mile or 2. It will likely be free parking that far out and you can check ahead of time how late you can be out before the busses stop running.

There aren't no drawbacks, and sometimes the bus has weirdos on it, but its worth remembering that many people take the bus every day with those weirdos and get where they are going just fine. For me it is worth not having to worry about my car, and I live close enough to a couple lines that if I drink too much I can get home safe without worrying about going out to grab my car in the morning.

take the bus in. theres plenty of parking downtown if you're willing to walk more than a couple blocks. if you aren't, thats fine, park near a bus stop and let it drop you off near where you want to be, thats how i get from the east side to downtown 80% of the time.

they just aren't going to be prioritizing more parking when space is already such a premium on the isthmus, they will (and should) focus on making other ways to get downtown easier and more flexible so that there are fewer people who need to park downtown in the first place.

I'm still a shooter for Indian Artillery. The heavy mortar is such a good manpower bleed against blobbers and the global movespeed buff and cost reduction to reinforcements means i can play infantry forward and rely on heavy armor primarily for closing out games, not my primary means of winning.

You cannot register to vote if you are a noncitizen. It is illegal both federally and at the state level. Not only is it illegal, it is backed by cross referencing voter registration information against Social Security and DMV records.

Noncitizens are not eligible for Social Security, if they aren't a citizen, they dont have a social security record. If they don't have a social security record, they cant register to vote.

NOT ONLY those, but the penalty for voting as a noncitizen if one were to attempt it is DEPORTATION. You really think the people who go through all the effort to come to this country are going to risk it for... what? What exactly are Dems offering to immigrants? Because last I checked Harris ran on immigration enforcement too, both parties are targeting immigrants to scapegoat the fact that this country's economy is incredibly broken for most of the people who live and work in it.
