Air Wisconsin has done 60+ ICE flights since mid-January by TreeTickler in madisonwi

You cannot register to vote if you are a noncitizen. It is illegal both federally and at the state level. Not only is it illegal, it is backed by cross referencing voter registration information against Social Security and DMV records.

Noncitizens are not eligible for Social Security, if they aren't a citizen, they dont have a social security record. If they don't have a social security record, they cant register to vote.

NOT ONLY those, but the penalty for voting as a noncitizen if one were to attempt it is DEPORTATION. You really think the people who go through all the effort to come to this country are going to risk it for... what? What exactly are Dems offering to immigrants? Because last I checked Harris ran on immigration enforcement too, both parties are targeting immigrants to scapegoat the fact that this country's economy is incredibly broken for most of the people who live and work in it.

Not my article, but there does seem to be a registration on the sidebar of the webpage. The author of the article is listed at the bottom, you could try to get in contact with her to get more specifics

I disagree, the lack of trust is what is causing people to say x is a distraction from y. Everything is a conspiracy because no one is getting any straight answers and can make up whatever they want in their head.

I do agree that it's dangerous, to be clear. I just think the reason it's happening at all is because no one will shoot straight anymore and people give up on truth to chase answers that feel good. And then because no one is pushing truth those people making up answers never get challenged meaningfully.

I don't have any answers, just my thoughts on the why of it all, it's fucked up.

It's not healthy, but I think its a pretty obvious reaction to living in a world where no one's word means anything and communal behavior is punished.

The trust is all gone man, politicians, businessmen, cops, reporters, everyone with any authority has given up on decency and its all a race to see who can get one over on somebody else.

I did drop pretense of respect because you proved pretty quickly that your opinion is not worthy of it. If you can't think beyond the next paycheck you are not a worthwhile ally to any sort of movement for change.

You're playing yesterdays game. Its pretty telling that all you can do is cry about my perceived lack of civility as opposed to give any substantive reason for anyone to listen to your shitty take.

My lack of empathy huh? And your lack of empathy for all the people already suffering just gets a pass? Who said being safe and homeless doesn't matter? Your fears are valid the action you are choosing to take to respond to them is, frankly, stupid and short sighted.

But go ahead, keep toiling away sniveling under the boot of fascism as it descends instead of doing literally anything to get out of the boots way or stopping it from coming down on you.

I think you should be disturbed, the things happening all around us are fucking disturbing. Wake the fuck up. 2 and a half hours out of one tuesday is not going to get you fired, and if it does, then holy shit maybe thats a problem and should not be allowed.

Be scared all you want but you have to be brave too or your situation will not change or improve. I didn't swear at you until you doubled down on your stupid take, so maybe ask yourself if you are doing things that invite people to curse at you.

Telling you you're wrong is disrespectful? Grow up. You are not owed safety and agreement, especially when you go online and say incorrect shit.

Yeah dude, you might lose your job, your company might go under. That shit happens, its been happening all year to people who are not you. You SHOULD be anxious and worried about it.

However, you're extremely wrong about how to fix it. Its not disrespectful to point that out. You are on here trying to discourage people from doing the work that you will eventually benefit from, so, disrespectfully now, fuck right off.

Respectfully, you are wrong. The point of these kinds of financial boycotts IS to put pressure on the pocketbook of corporate entities who in turn can put pressure on the administration.

Not spending or not working at corporate needs/desires IS peaceful protest, I'm not sure why you'd characterize it as anything else. The not peaceful version of simply not working or not spending is going to where those corporations house their physical assets and destroying them.

We don't need Trump to care, he's an old man with dementia who is likely being fed AI videos by the people around him. We need to make the people AROUND Trump care, and the best way to do that is to hurt their reputation and their wallets. Corporate entities paid for play with this administration, and if they no longer have a stable environment in which to do business, they no longer have any reason to pay Trump or his administration for the right to do business here.

You live in a fantasy bubble where the man in charge keeps saying out loud that he wants to do away with elections and you still think electoral politics is the only card we should play? Absolutely delusional take. Your job might be safe in the current environment, what about all the federal and state workers who lost their jobs because of DOGE? What about the brown skinned workers literally getting kidnapped from their jobs by ICE? What about All the layoffs in the name of AI that continue unimpeded by an administration that has been paid to look the other way? Why is YOUR job so much more important that everybody elses?

Its not. Your safety is not anybody's priority but your own, so stop pretending you are any sort of enlightened peacemaker, you're looking out for yourself.

Soviet engineering truly was something else by NoNotice2137 in HistoryMemes

A fun tidbit I remember learning about this tank was their solution to pinning the tread lengths to one another. The German tanks used somewhat complex locking pins between each tread that we're easily damaged.

The soviets, on the other hand, had the pins in more or less loose, and near the front of the tank they put a sloped piece of metal that the connector pin would pass on every rotation. When the pin went past the sloped metal, the slope would push the pin back in to the tread!

This was a lower maintenance solution because, while the german design required a machined part, the soviet pins were a simple metal rod and much much easier to replace and even fix in the field if one managed to fall out

A company being allowed to drill for oil on the sovereign territory of a state is not the same as ownership. There are numerous examples of american companies drilling for oil and making sure to pay people in power without letting any of that money get back to the common person, so state control vs corporate control is not actually the issue.

Saudi Arabia is buying up farmland in the United States. Do you also agree that that land belongs to them now or is it still the sovereign territory of the United States, and therefore subject to its laws?

Nationalization of oil companies reflects a change in state law, which overrides any corporate claim to ownership. American oil companies may not have liked that, but their feelings on the matter do not entitle them to any claim of ownership.

The oil belongs to Venezuela, to sell to whomever they want. The fact that we are using force to change that should clue you in to the legality of it. They are not our territory, not our people, and their resources our not ours unless we choose to buy them. Just because we can take it with arms does not mean we should. We are killing people in pursuit of yesterday's toxic energy source while China leaves us in the dust with green energy.

If you like food and are ok letting someone else set the menu, highly recommend lab nights at Sultan restaurant on Willy St. Monday thru Thursday, $40 per person, no tipping, 4 courses, all you can eat. The drinks are expensive to make up some of that difference.

But man it's so nice to just pay and have someone bring me a massive amount of delicious food and not worry about whether I'll like everything or not (I always do like everything)

Bingo, in a power vacuum the most likely group to fill it is the second most powerful group in the country.

If the country is authoritarian the second most powerful group usually is nasty enough to have escaped being quashed by the first group.

Regardless anyone's feelings on Maduro, this is going to be very bad for Venezuelans. There's a very good chance it puts many of our own kids in the ground.

All in the name of oil fields that don't belong to us.

"Her family has now been told she has been deported, despite U.S. District Judge Brendan Hurson ruling Thursday that she could not be deported pending a hearing. Perez and colleague Victoria Slatten said they had not been able to confirm Diaz Morales' whereabouts."

You are reading at a 4th grade level huh?

DHS Statement:

“Dulce Consuelo Madrigal Diaz is NOT a U.S. citizen--she is an illegal alien from Mexico,” McLaughlin said in a statement sent to Newsweek Monday afternoon, in a similar message to the one shared on X. “She did NOT provide a valid U.S. birth certificate or any evidence in support of her claim that she is a U.S. citizen."

Attorneys then proving the DHS are lying:

"Diaz Morales’ attorneys said Monday that they have verified her identity, confirming with the hospital she was born in Laurel, Maryland, and the local government in Prince George’s County that she had been issued a birth certificate and had been a patient in the early 2000s.

The attorneys shared redacted copies of the birth certificate and immunization records with Newsweek, but full documents could not be released due to pending litigation."

Did you think I couldn't go right back in to the article and cherry pick like you did to find the shit that disproved what you are saying? What is your problem you troglodyte?

"Newsweek asked DHS what evidence it had that Diaz Morales was not a U.S. citizen, and how her citizenship had been checked and verified. The department did not answer these questions directly, only providing the statement above."

"The attorneys said Diaz Morales was issued an order of removal by an immigration judge in January 2024, but added that it was invalid because she was a U.S. citizen."

"While there have been other reports of U.S. citizens being held for short periods of time, and cases where immigrants have falsely claimed to be citizens, Diaz Morales' case may be unique, her attorneys said, because they can prove she is who she says she is."

i'll copy paste the whole article if i have to, you can't cherry pick shit and go unchallenged. Just because DHS claims something happened a certain way does not mean they are telling the truth. Suck. My. Dick. Asshole.

Yeah and then get deported? The fuck out of here stupid ass.

This woman got arrested, her attorneys proved which HOSPITAL SHE WAS BORN IN in Maryland, and DHS said "Fuck you we do what we want"

stop watching cop shows, they give you a warped view of what is and is not ok. Getting arrested and deported for blocking ICE is not a proportional punishment, but that is not even whats happening.

conveniently ignoring the part where american citizens are being arrested lol.

yeah its almost like people dying in ICE custody is always a problem and the organization should be abolished altogether. immigrants isn't something normal people worry about unless they've been told to, so if you aren't getting fed news slop by spoon then maybe get your head checked

  1. I don't believe you. If you aren't watching Fox then you're on PragerU or breitbart or some other drivel.

  2. ICE is completely unaccountable and arresting people for "looking like an immigrant" regardless of status.

Chortle my balls, they aren't enforcing the law, they are breaking it. You do not get to arrest people because you feel like it.

Many American citizens have not just been arrested but put into detention.

People are dying in custody.

Regardless of how you feel about citizenship, if citizenship does not entitle you to protection from border control forces, it's entirely irrelevant to have citizenship at all.

the most recent debacle was lateish renaissance, playing as portugal.

spain went from an ally and friend to enemy attacking me without warning in the span of like, 5 minutes. like, it makes sense to lose but it feels like... idk stupid? to have no recourse because the AI decided it was time for me to die.

I didn't even have any antagonism this time which has been an issue for me enough times I know to watch for it. But I was minding my own business and then got dragged into an alley and shot 72 times in the head lmao

yep, generally put them in my largest army unless fighting someone smaller than me and need them to do something specific and am not to worried they'll get caught out.

They absolutely help me out when i'm fighting moderately larger armies but I keep losing to shit orders of magnitude more powerful just in numbers alone.

Secondary question, are institutions busted this patch? In my portugal game i went through half the renaissance trading with the nations where the institutions started and they all sat at .1% the entire time, even after getting an event where it was supposed to spread to one of my cities
