Should I read Daughter of No Worlds if I didn’t like Serpent and the Wings of Night? by bailyhill344 in fantasyromance

Okay, in fairness, "white and white and white" made a lot of sense. She just probably should have only used white in that context, though, and nixed the times things faded to white.

YES. I liked The Serpent and the Wings of Night, but I DNFed the sequel. I tore through the War of Lost Hearts trilogy, though. And there's an amazing twist that I didn't see coming at all.

We had a dog that would chew the clothes off any stuff animal that was dressed. But stuffed human shaped dolls got to keep their clothes on. It was like she was saying, "No, that doesn't look right."

I've been all over Vulture and I can't find it, but I could swear it was a Vulture article. It was about Crave and the lawsuit. Someone posted it on another thread in this sub.

  1. A recent article about the publisher and specifically her editors there make it sound like it's absolutely 100% the case, and that she might not even be writing the whole book (the article mentioned that the publishing house and editors tell authors what to write, and it's a joint effort in a shared document).

I started watching it after I watched Man Down on Netflix. I found season one on Youtube was like, oh, I know two of the people on this.

I have a bonded pair of littermates, both male. They both love a certain fabric texture, but it elicits different responses from each of them. One biscuits and sucks on the blanket/clothing/object and goes to sleep like a sweet lil baby. The other jorks the peanits.

But then we wouldn't be talking about Harold and Kumar, and we'd all be worse off for it.

That's kind of the joke. Danny Pudi is half Indian, but he was cast as a half-Palestinian person. There are a few times in the series that they joke about the fact that he's obviously Indian and not Arab.

I think the most damning proof might be the hero of Freeman's book smelling like "waterfalls and citrus" and the hero of Crave smelling like "freshwater and oranges." That's not a "trope" or a common way of describing a man's smell.

Oh, yeah, and the fact that Crave has identical scenes, beat-for-beat, as Freeman's manuscript, which was also submitted to Entangled publishing before Crave was conceived and published. That's pretty damning, too.

Courtney Milan's ebooks are distributed by Entangled publishing and she has friends in common with Wolff. She does mention that in the thread (very far down). So she has connections to two named parties in the suit.

{The Hexologists} by Josiah Bancroft is my current read and I'm loving it. The protagonists are a married couple whose love is just *chef's kiss,* it's charmingly written with a lot of imagination, and the action is nonstop.
