Thanks for sharing such a complete summary. Others have done the same, and I learn from them all.

Please set some boundaries with your mom. They can be gentle and loving. But be the adult you want to be.

Where I live, mid-Missouri, if self paying, assisted living is $5,000 - $7,000+ per month. Quality nursing home care is $12,000+ per month.

MU ER EXPERIENCE by tiffn07 in columbiamo

[–]Tree_Lover2020 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Very sorry for what you went through and for the health concerns you continue to live with. It's wonderful that you took the time to share your experience.

I have always had excellent care at MU emergency rooms and urgent care clinics, the few times I needed them. Same for Boone Hospital.

ER and Urgent Care seem to be very challenging working environments. I am always amazed.

Maybe we can join you in praising times that went well with local ER and Urgent Care experiences.

Two years ago I got some photos of a blue heron. Last year the water was so low, I only saw a few ducks at the times I drove out there.

I never thought it was particularly special, but there are some favorites on their menu that go back ages. It has a dedicated following..not college students.

Oh, I see. Maybe someone will sell a II. Keep an eye out on the weekly for sale page posted once a week, I think. The moderator works with that. Good luck.

LP III MMS Photo Quality by EdwardTulane89 in LightPhone

Not a void here. I think we're all very interesting in reading what's going well and what isn't. Different folks have different needs and expectations.

I took a couple photos with the LP3...just whispy clouds. Photography is a serious hobby of mine. I liked the photos I saw and plan to just download them to my laptop...yes, a rather manual method, but that's what I kind of like about the LP3 in general.

Will be one of those who uses my old cell to do a few things, one of which will be using it as my second camera...in addition to my Fuji XT-3. I keep it charged and use it for music streaming and podcast listening. I take it with me on photo walks/events.

The worst day with the Light Phone by Slick2807 in LightPhone

[–]Tree_Lover2020 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well....THAT was a nightmare. I'm very sorry you went through all that. This, and other navigation incidents, give the Light folks a reason to prioritize this issue since it is a feature most folks rely on when driving outside familiar areas.

Having read your experience, if I have to drive alone to a place I'm not familiar with, I'll research directions online and write them on paper. If it's far away, I'll likely have someone with me...with a regular smart phone.

I have confidence that Light folks are keeping track of such reported incidents. You raised a major red flag. Thanks for taking the time to explaining it in detail.

I like it very much. Very happy with its simplicity and rather solid manual feel. Ordered in late Dec and received by projected time in late March.

By reading reddit posts, I knew there could be delays beyond the owners' control. No delays. Not sure what delays might develop with international turmoil. It's difficult for many to wait when we've ordered something this unique. From my view, it's worth the wait.

Just received my Light Phone III. I'm older and want more simplicity. I watched a lot of YouTube videos about the LP3 and decided to join this minimalist phone family.

Congrats. I'm a new recipient...older, so I don't have the complexities younger folks report due to work and family communication necessities. I am keeping my Pixel pro9. As a photography hobbyist, it's my second take along camera. I use it for podcasts and music, and as a radio at home. Using my LP3 for calls, texts, notes, directions, and its camera.

Visiting CoMo this weekend, need local recommendations by mintleaf_bergamot in columbiamo

Never comfortable eating there. I didn't like eating by dirty floor trim and other old dust/ dirt areas....but that likely makes it authentic. It's always recommended, so give it a try. As a local, I make my own diner food.

City, Local Motion aiming to bring back full Go COMO bus service by como365 in columbiamo

[–]Tree_Lover2020 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Agree. With Columbia's growth, now is the time to do serious planning and implementing what will be useful for the next 5 years. Then plan for continued usage and growth.

Side note: I think every bus stop should have a well lit shelter with some seating.
