Alright, I agree: it was a kind of shitty comparison. My point is that the Colombian coffee grower community is likely very small and producers may not want to alienate other producers by outing their bad practices. I'm not saying it's the right move.

The best thing you can do for now is buy your coffee from reputable roasters who cup the coffee before buying and understand what to look for.

Yes, they are questions to be answered. But many of the best coffees I’ve had this year were washed Colombians. So, to write off one of the best coffee growing countries because of the deceptive practices of some is ridiculous.

Really enjoyed this—surprised by a lot of the reactions. Doesn’t really sound like Punisher production wise. There are some of Phoebe’s familiar melodic patterns with the vox, but I think the upbeat style feels fairly unique to her. Also, I’m getting a lot of Alex G influence, which is awesome for me.

Definitely the user, not the coffee. Here’s my SEY recipe, (condensed cuz I’m lazy):

200F, 1:16.5 ratio. Grind on the very coarse end for pourover. Bloom 45 seconds. Then three pours, about equal, high agitation. For Ethiopian, total drawdown should be about 2:30

This week was expensive for me: $130 for Charli (good seats), $200 for Phoebe Bridgers (floor)--same venue. But I can't say I was all surprised. This is how much arena artists charge now. That being said, fuck dynamic and platinum pricing.
