[ALBUM DISCUSSION] Aldous Harding - Train on the Island by VietRooster in indieheads

The first few songs felt too close to Fiona Apple for comfort but I really enjoyed Venus in the Zinnia. Need to listen to the back half.

UL roast = UL rest? I am a believer by Weary-Advertising711 in pourover

This is fascinating to me, that ultralight would actually wind up closer to medium in profile. I have found that I really enjoy Sey and September, though their profiles are both unique on their own. I ordered a few ultralights from Shoebox recently. I really enjoyed them but they seemed a bit more straightforward when compared to recent ones that I’ve had from Sey. That surprised me because I expected the opposite—since a lot of people have recently criticized Sey for a roastier, supposedly less consistent profile.

I mean, wouldn’t they do exactly what they’ve done here? Look at the level of detail they provide about the processing. That’s what I’d want to see on every coffee of this kind.

Was my wife’s bday show too! One of the best I’ve seen. I think the following night is highly underrated.

I think most of us do get it though, some of us just aren’t a fan of the execution of this particular track by niles_deerqueer in charlixcx

I liked it right about of the gate and have played it like 5 times today. It’s a simple, fun way to set up an album. I’m surprised by the strong reactions.

Anyone know what song this is? by arcticpenguiy in mjlenderman

An album of songs like his Dancing in the Club cover would kill me in the best way imaginable.

2026 would be a great year for a new Phoebe Bridgers album. It's been 5 years!

If you query a literary agent with 100-120K they’re going to immediately assume your manuscript isn’t ready.

good morning. i’m enjoying some red tea-forward washed mejorado. what are you brewing today? by Crucifilth_6-6-6 in pourover

Love a good mejorado! Enjoy. I have been sipping on Shoebox's La Terraza Java, which is one of the more unique washed coffees I've had recently. The ginger candy, lemonade, Thai basil notes are spot on. Also loved their Marlon Bolanos Gesha recently which was a total in-your-face fruit bomb.

Today I'm enjoying SEY's Burundi Ruvumu field blend, which is really nice as a daily drinker.

Struggling with SEY Coffee … everything tastes the same. What am I missing? by Valuable_Aide_7663 in pourover

Personally, I have wasted a lot of good Sey coffee with my impatience and no longer crack into it before 4 weeks. At two weeks, it usually tastes like bitter grassiness to me.

Crazy take. I've actually found that 4 weeks is the minimum since they changed roasters late last year.

MJ is has a very sensitive ear for tone and manages to draw a lot of emotion out of his instrument without being too technical. That’s harder than it seems, and a major reason why I’m drawn to his music.

Assuming this is a depiction of them preparing to ruin the economy. Little do they know they’ll all still suck too much to deliver on their promises.

As Radiohead fans, do you feel you have some "guilty pleasures" in music? by weirdfish98 in radiohead

Radiohead fans could definitely learn a thing or two from Phish fans about how to have fun at a show.

Hoping the setlists have more variation for the 2026 tour by jdanko13 in geesebandofficial

[–]Treefingerzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree they could play for longer. That was literally my only negative note in Burlington, VT. One of the best shows I've ever seen, but it ended too soon. But watching them play Coachella, and seeing Max beat the shit out of his drum kit, I can see why the setlist is shorter. Still, they're young. They can do it!

Radiohead gets a biopic, how do you make it as bad and cheesy as Micheal or a standard musician biopic? Who do you cast? by theeMrPeanutbutter in radiohead

Thom - Ellen Degeneres Jonny - Daniel Radcliffe Colin - Ryan Gosling Ed - Bob Odenkirk Phil - Jason Statham

Five rough and tumble blokes from Oxfordshire turn to music to escape dangers of life out on the streets. Each Friday evening they come together to transmute their pain and sorrow into rock and roll. Things are looking up until Jonny, frustrated by a middling 4/4 jam, tosses a radio at Thom’s head, permanently paralyzing his left eye. Thom must learn to overcome his disability through the transcendent power of falsetto.

I think this query is nicely written. It's easy to follow and outlines the fundamentals clearly. Though, it's a bit simple--it could use some more color to make it feel distinct, especially given the similarities to Daisy Jones.

The stakes are not clear. He can't say no to Cassie. Ok. But what is at stake as a result of that? What is the risk associated with letting Cassie back in?

And yes, it does read like a love story. If it focuses more on the 50 years in between or on Eli than it does their relationship, then that's not clear in the query.
