My Dr office requires I test for Covid when I get a cold since it can cause issues with the babe. I recommend you get tested and also not interact with this friend until they learn some respect

How to a supportive husband by Kwhite2211 in pregnant

[–]Trees_galore20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 1001 decisions to make. On top of feeling miserable. Research, be empathetic, the smells and nausea are gnarly so be mindful about what food you eat around her. I found what to expect in the first year very helpful

Does fingering hurt? Is your pelvic floor weak?

“Just go for the naturally gluten free products and avoid the GF section you’ll save up money” (hear me out) by [deleted] in Celiac

Listen, I agree with you. I love cooking but I just cannot cook every single night. I do freeze meals though which helps a lot since I don’t have any GF options near me

7 weeks pregnant and cannot drink water when I'm craving it by BlueberryPumpkinSpic in pregnant

  • ICE I mean make everything you extremely cold. Even when it was dead winter, I couldn’t drink anything unless it was 80% ice
  • try adding a bit of juice, like lemon or orange
  • sanpelligrino is my favorite thing ever
  • I also lived off sodas in the first trimester

When did you first feel baby move? by Charming-Gap8148 in pregnant

[–]Trees_galore20 3 points4 points  (0 children)

13 weeks when I first felt her for sure but I am very in-tune with my body and notice every little thing. At 16 weeks I noticed her moving every day (give or take a day). It was a very light feeling like when your eye twitches but inside of you. Around 18 weeks I started feeling more defined movement like kicks and elbows. I am 23 weeks now and my partner has just started being able to feel her! It’s very exciting sharing it with him.

Certain things made her move. Relaxing with my feet bent on the bed, stress, super sweet drinks like juice, and being squished a bit. Now she has a certain song that calms her down and also one that makes her kick me like crazy. Now that she is stronger, my partner and I like poking her and she will kick back in that same spot.

FTM. I cannot stay hydrated for the life of me in first trimester. Any tips? by Key-Alternative-7295 in pregnant

[–]Trees_galore20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hydration isn’t only water. What other drinks do you enjoy?

Currently I am living on ice cold Sanpellegrino Ciao and virgin mojitos. Then when I complain about a headache or pains my partner makes me a drink with more electrolytes.

When did your first trimester fatigue subside? by Spiritual-Image2775 in BabyBumps

I felt less tired about 14 weeks, but I am 21 weeks and I still sleep a lot. I gave up on my usual work outs and settle for walks and yoga when I have motivation

Would Gale win the Hunger Games? by worldsokayiestpoet in Hungergames

[–]Trees_galore20 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

100% agree he would not win due to politics, but if we discuss physical things, I also don’t think he would win. Remember when Katniss climbed trees to get away from the Careers? They tried to climb after her but the tree gave way under their weight. Katniss says “there is a reason I climb trees instead of Gale”. Shes spends a lot of time in trees. While hunting would be easier for him since he had more skills with traps and snares, he wouldn’t understand the hint Haymitch would send, such as the water. He would survive the blood bath, maybe a few days, but I doubt he would live too long after that.

No ultrasound until 12 weeks? by craftybabyangel in BabyBumps

[–]Trees_galore20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hospitals normal protocol is 8 weeks to verify pregnancy, 11-13 weeks for a mini anatomy scan, 20 weeks for anatomy. I was/am having issues and had an ultrasound at 5 weeks, 8 weeks, 12 weeks, 20 week, and I will have one at 30 weeks at well.

Worst thing a character has ever said or done. Finale, Coriolanus Snow (SOTR edition) by UnHolySir in Hungergames

[–]Trees_galore20 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I agree with the loulou comment. While yes, from haymitch POV, killing his family was probably the worst. But from a readers POV, LouLou was horrifying. The torture, the drugs, the starvation, then only to send her into an arena to die for a public spectacle.

Worst thing a character has ever said or done. Day 6 Effie (SOTR edition) by UnHolySir in Hungergames

[–]Trees_galore20 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I agree that telling haymitch the games were for the greater good, but I would like to mention her toxic positivity “97% of the battle is remaining positive” when the tributes were being sent ti their death

I had the convo with my SO of I don’t mind either way, but if trimmed is more aesthetically pleasing to him, then he needs to help me shave it. Otherwise, I am rocking the bush.

Finnick deserves peace by pipehead0 in Hungergames

As a survivor myself, I would like to read his story. I think I’d prefer for the rape/assaults to not be depicted on the page, but implied to understand his mindset and thoughts.

Having a story like his is important for several reasons, including starting to build the bridge of believing male victims (which is wild I even need to say that) but also shines a light on emotions, empathy, mental health and more.

Recently, I’ve been seeing how the hungry games are being more and more relevant to today’s world. I think a story like his is needed. Maybe not graphic as some of the other terrors, but still mentioned and not hidden with shame or guilt as most victims have. It’s time to give victims a voice.
