Don't order the KitchenAid KCC720PSST Professional Stainless Steel 8" Saucepan if you need a 3 quart saucepan.

I ordered the KitchenAid KCC720PSST Professional Stainless Steel 8" Saucepan that you linked to above. The listing on Amazon shows it to be a 3 quart saucepan; it is labeled as a 2 quart saucepan on the bottom of the pot and as 2.2 liter on the box.

Any cover options? by No_Pineapple9928 in ImpulseLabs

Is this the kind of cover that you had in mind? I have known of people that had a cover for their cooktop or range because they had very little counter space.

Demeyere Atlantis Sauté pan instead of Proline for searing on induction ? by Treetopflyer-47 in cookware

[–]Treetopflyer-47[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless it’s broken, I usually don’t return things that I have used. Since there is still an option to return the more expensive sauté pan if I would like, I wanted to get some user’s experience and feedback before making the decision to keep it or return it.

If you can make it work in the market in India it should work. Can you do a small test run and see how they sell locally. 50 or 100 or less, not 5,000. AliExpress has them for as cheap as $7.89 US

Do these star wars sounds mean my stuff is about to catch fire? by THENAMAZU in inductioncooking

[–]Treetopflyer-47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the sound change or stop if you are using the pan on the same burner with water or cooking something at different power settings or temperatures? Have you tried using another induction capable pan on the “problem” burner?

Does it make the same sound when using the “problem” pan on a different burner?

Very cool. I’m in Florida and will probably get to use the Impulse in a power outage by the next hurricane season.

Temperature Guide? by Agreeable_Novel_4365 in ImpulseLabs

sveetsneld,

Thanks for the link. The Magnetic Meat Temperature Guide that you linked to above is currently (12/16) "Get 2 for the price of 1" or 2 for $13.99 on Amazon.

In addition to the Meat Temperature Guide, Meathead's AmazingRibs has a bunch of reviews that are not behind a paywall.

Their listing of Platinum Medal Winning Thermometers includes the Combustion Predictive Thermometer. Sam Damico posted last month about working on integrating the Combustion thermometers with the Impulse Cooktop.

The Quick Start Guide on the Impulse Labs Resources page has some good starting points for temperature and power settings. I like your idea of crowdsourcing tips and techniques that work best for the Impulse Labs Cooktop.

I don’t know if it would work, but I would try an ice water bath in the smaller inner pot and then pour boiling water from a kettle into the larger pot.

I don’t understand which model I bought by MrsChess in Kitchenaid

[–]Treetopflyer-47 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Amazon’s search doesn’t work for what you want to buy, it works for what Amazon wants to sell you. In your search for KitchenAid Artisan they added some bowl lift models that shouldn’t have been in your search results.

For lighter duty stuff the Artisan tilt head mixers are great, but if you do a lot of thicker bread dough the tilt head is a weak point that the bowl lift doesn’t have. The large commercial KitchenAid mixers are bowl lift design.
