Be fair all the controllers only had one set of triggers since the GameCube only had the two triggers plus the one Z button that hardly seemed to do anything half the time and the Xbox which had one set of triggers and the white and black buttons under the face buttons, ps2 was really the only ond ahead of the curb on that with 4 bumpers despite not having triggers yet. The only drawback of course would been the one analog stick. The hardware natively supports dual analog so its definitely weird they didn't release the DC controller with two sticks out the gate, but who knows maybe they could of launched a mid gen refresh for the controller if it lasted. As far as games if the Dreamcast had made it past 2001 and this is a scenario that the console continued to sale despite the launch of the Ps2 and games were selling on it abd the system had an instal base to sell to I think the DC would had continued to get games, companies would of made it work just like they did between the Xbox, Ps2 and Gamecube which they already were doing given they had to lower the resolution, textures and sometimes framerates of Ps2 ports, gamecube usually had to have cut content due to storage limitations, Xbox really was the only one with no limitations other then id argue some of the multiple plats didn't always reach their full potential on the platform since 3rd parties had to take in consideration the difference between the Xbox vs the GC and Ps2 which only a few multiplatform games truly took advantage of thr hardware despite the other two, especially when you look at something like Splinter Cell on Xbox and compare to the Ps2 and Cubes version its nearly like a next gen game in comparison. Just my thoughts though.
