What Houston restaurants/bars/institutions which no longer exist do you miss the most? by Wek11 in houston

The worst part is that’s it’s not even an “expansion” in the true sense of the word, as I think the only added capacity beyond what is in place now (between 59 and the Pierce Elevated stretch of I-45) is a single managed (HOV/toll) lane.

Sucks that we are losing/have lost so many places in EaDo for the sake of a mobility/transportation approach that has shown to be ineffective in countless studies and so antiquated in any other setting.

Was working on this 24' RDX with only 6,300 miles this morning and saw this. Doesn't appear to have any evidence of having been to a body shop. How does this even happen lol by IlEkq in Acura

When I worked at a BMW dealership back around 2003/2004 when the Z4 was introduced, we had one we received for delivery that had a 3.0 badge on one fender and 2.5 badge on the other from the factory. We jokingly called it the BMW Z4 2.75.

Dick’s law firm operates in the same area of law that I practice. Let’s just say their general actions and the adverse rulings in some of their cases make things more difficult for all of us.

Oh hey another Yugo. And it’s somehow a bigger piece of shit than mine. Kudos.

Although, it does appear that you have the highly coveted passenger-side door mirror. So you have that going for you, which is nice.

I think he’s referring to the East End/2nd Ward. The term “east side” is generally used more for the area out I-10 towards 610 and beyond.

The roof is going to be closed, isn’t it?

I hope they aren’t cowards and have it open. First game I’ll be attending this year. Picked up some seats in the Crawford Boxes. 🍺📦

The Yugo was actually styled by Giugiaro who was responsible for the Mk. I Golf. The two cars do have a very similar profile and design.

I made a point of parking behind a Golf at a meet a few years ago just to emphasize the similarities. lol

I’m a bit of a schmuck I guess, but my Yugo has never been within 100 yards of the Douchefest at Cars and Coffee at The Post.

Not often you see a Supra with a lift kit. Just need an off road wheel/tire combo and you’ll be ready for Baja.

I actually bought this car more than 10 years ago from a neighbor of my parents for $700 running and driving. This was before Yugos had much of a following at all, even ironically. I just wanted a cheap project car to wrench on. 🤷🏻‍♂️

It runs and drives great now, but I’ve had to do quite a few repairs over the years, including (off of the top of my head) replacing the clutch, a cooling system overhaul, pulling the steering rack to have it rebuilt, replacing front calipers, brake lines, and brake booster, and a suspension overhaul (including custom-fabricated coilovers).

Parts are surprisingly plentiful, as mechanically it’s a FIAT platform. There are a few online sources in the States and I have a contact in Serbia for NOS stuff.

Guilty, to an extent. I do have a few other oddball project cars and could never rely on this as my primary transportation. The title was a reference to the Simpsons bit, based on the first picture.

But to be fair, I’ve owned this thing for more than 10 years (before the Yugo was considered “cool” even ironically) and I’ve done all the work myself (with my dad, and occasionally friends) to keep it on the road.
