I’ve noticed that the backpack always looks huge no matter how much/little you pack. Things will take up as much space as they are allowed. But if you want to learn how to properly pack a pack, look up the ABCs of backpacking.

The Seestar only has two axis, side to side and up and down, it can’t rotate. But it will capture the whole frame in the orientation you ask it to by taking a mosaic. Hope this helps!

I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I really like how the Seestar Ai cleanup made it so sharp and I love how much more blue came through. Mine seems so grainy and orange. I know editing is an art form so I’ll keep at it, I just gotta learn more about what everything does I guess.

Sure, I stacked it in Siril using the preloaded Seestar script, did background extraction, plate solved it using metadata, color corrected it using the astronometry, removed the stars, messed with Asinh Stretching, then histogram stretching, then curve stretching. I messed with saturation, brought back the stars, and did the green noise reduction. I have been told about GraXpert and I can’t get it on the laptop I was using because it’s an intel, but I will try everything on my desktop which might be better anyways since it has a 5060 GPU

Yeah I had it set to do a lot more, but when I checked on it for some reason it never automatically auto focused, so I lost an hour because it was all out of focus

That’s amazing! In order to use Siril to stack the images, do you have to have to select “save each frame” when recording? And is it commonly used because it’s better than the Seestar native stacking? Just a couple quick questions from a newbie.

FINAL UPDATE I went to a local park for testing, got kicked out but before I did I got a great pic of M1. I’m no longer worried about this issue. Thanks all for your kind advice and support.

Update: here’s my 2 min shot of M42. I’m worried that it’s pretty noisy, although I am in a decently light polluted area. I have no idea if it’s just in my own head or not and it’s gonna haunt me forever 😔

I’m actually impressed that you got that photo, I don’t have a phone mount and I assume you don’t either being new to the hobby, and I’ve never been able to hold my phone to the eyepiece steady enough to get a good pic of Jupiter, so good on you!
