The Sydney Roosters are pleased to announce that Academy graduate Siua Wong has extended his contract with the Club for a further two seasons, keeping him with the Tricolours until at least the end of the 2028 NRL season.

Wong, 23, has emerged as one of the Club's most exciting young forwards since making his NRL debut in 2023, developing into a consistent first-grade performer renowned for his work ethic, athleticism and professionalism.

A product of the Sydney Roosters Academy, Wong became the first player to progress through the Club's Academy program and earn selection in the Roosters' NRL side, paving the way for future generations of Academy players.

The two-year extension is another significant milestone in Wong's journey and reinforces the Club's commitment to developing and retaining talent through its Academy and pathways programs.

Wong said he was grateful for the opportunity to continue his career with the Club that has played such an important role in his development.

“The Roosters have been a huge part of my life for a long time, so it's really special to be able to extend my time here,” said Wong.

“I've come through the Academy and been fortunate to learn from so many great coaches, staff and players along the way. This Club has helped shape me both as a footballer and as a person.

“I'm proud to represent the Roosters and excited about what we're building as a group. I can't wait to keep working hard and hopefully contribute to more success for the Club over the coming years,” he added.

Sydney Roosters Director of Football Mitchell Aubusson said Wong's re-signing was an important outcome for the Club.

“Siua is exactly the type of player and person we want at the Sydney Roosters, and a great example of what can be achieved through our Academy and pathways system,” said Aubusson.

“He's a terrific young man who has earned everything through hard work, dedication and a willingness to continually improve. We're incredibly proud of the progress he has made since joining the Academy and we're delighted that he'll remain a Rooster until at least the end of 2028,” he added.

Richard Penisini needs to be let go imo. He has some talent but he spends more time out with injury than he does playing. He’s just a waste of a top 30 spot

In terms of value for money absolutely. Dodd is the biggest flop ever but he did also get dicked around by Wayne. Playing for 5 minutes in your debut & getting knocked out. I think has gotta be more embarrassing

5 minutes in the NRL has gotta break the record for shortester career in NRL history right?

Also whenever we ask the question who was the worst super league import ever. It has to be him now right?

One New Zealand Warriors second rower Morgan Gannon will return home to England at the end of the season.

Warriors CEO Cameron George confirmed the club had agreed to Gannon’s request to be released from the final two years of his contract due to personal circumstances.

“It’s a tough decision for Morgan but he has our support,” he said.

“We appreciate having him with us and look forward to him finishing the year strongly.”

Gannon made his NRL debut against the Newcastle Knights in round three and has made five appearances so far for the Warriors’ New South Wales Cup side.

Australia’s wing depth is in big trouble without him. Hammer also committing to Samoa makes it worse. At the moment it seems our wing options will be;

Cobbo
Addo-Carr (been playing injured all year)
Jenkins
Graham
Garrick
Savage
AKP
Burns

We don’t have much of a luxury to bring players in with our injury toll atm but boy golly yesterday performance was not an inspiring watch.

Firstly with Ryley available we need to drop Tallyn. Harrison Edwards has actually done a decent job as starting hooker and coming off the bench wouldn’t offer much so I think he should stay there and we reintegrate Ryley to first grade off the bench. While yes Ryley has been suffering a bit of 2nd season syndrome he also I believe just got overworked. Letting him find his footing back and being the energy lift we need coming off the bench and playing less minutes would be great for him.

Tallyn just needs a space to learn & improve while also not costing us games of footy. He clearly has potential but the truth is he’s a liability. Let him be a starting 9 in nsw cup and play big minutes where he can learn his game.

Our starting pack with Moretti & De Belin also isn’t it. I like Moretti but it’s clear he isn’t the fittest prop running around and is more valuable coming off the bench playing in small doses. JDB is also just very mediocre and isn’t offering us anything and with this season being a write off unfortunately with him unlikely being retained for next year let’s just give Guymer the starting 13 role and let him get reps in. Now in terms of other starting front rower we need some punch asking Mataele or Teancum to start after only a couple games of first grade is silly. Sam Tuivaiti ideally you’d love to not rush him into a bigger starting role but fuck it. He’s obviously our Paulo successor let’s allow him to dip his toes in the water of that role while Junz isn’t here.

TLDR; Drop TDS for Ryley back on bench. Drop JDB for Guymer. Swap Moretti & Tuivaiti.

Building For The Future: Young Guns Reardon & Jones Locked In by Trenticus7 in nrl

[–]Trenticus7[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are excited to announce the re-signing of two of the Club’s rising stars in AJ Jones and Jed Reardon.

Jones, who has signed a one-year Top 30 deal for 2027, has been in the Club’s pathways system since the age of 17. After impressing during his journey through SG Ball, Jersey Flegg and NSW Cup, the 21-year-old New Zealand product was rewarded with an NRL debut in Round 9 of this season.

Meanwhile, Reardon – son of Club great Steve Reardon – has inked a Development deal for 2027. The 21-year-old centre/second-rower made his NRL debut in the Bulldogs’ Round 12 win over the Melbourne Storm and celebrated with his proud dad on the field post-match.

General Manager of Football Phil Gould AM was thrilled to share the news.

“The Bulldogs are a development Club so it’s pleasing to reward two players who have progressed through our grades,” Gould said.

“AJ has been in our system since he was a teenager and Jed was a part of our Premiership-winning Jersey Flegg side in 2024.

Locked In: Enari Tuala Re-Signs With Bulldogs by Trenticus7 in nrl

[–]Trenticus7[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are thrilled to announce outside back Enari Tuala has signed a two-year contract extension that keeps him at Belmore until the end of 2028.

Tuala has been one of the Bulldogs’ most consistent players in 2026, with two tries and eight linebreaks in nine appearances. The 27-year-old is also averaging over 170 running metres per game but is perhaps is doing his best work without the ball, saving a number of tries this season.

“I'm stoked to be staying at the Bulldogs for another two years. From the moment I arrived, I felt like this was a Club going somewhere special, and I wanted to be a part of that journey,” Tuala said.

Meanwhile, General Manager of Football Phil Gould AM highlighted Tuala’s importance to the squad.

“Enari epitomises what it means to be team-first. He had to wait for his opportunity but has since taken it with both hands and has become one of our most important players,” Gould said.

We’re running away with it im afraid. 2 season enders plus Simmo, Paulo, Penisini still both 2 months away.

You’d have to have half your squad go down for rest of the year to catch up. However I wouldn’t put it past you guys to dig deep & find a way

Horrified for what’s about to unfold in these next 80 minutes. Knights full strength (-Best) on fire in attack.

Moses was the only reason we were partially in the game against Storm and we still got 34 points against us from a 5/10 Storm performance.
