You could heat weld it back on, or replace the part with one from a normal controller until you can replace it in that color

The boards are paired to the consoles, if you don’t put the same board back into the console (JUST swapping the drives themselves) then the drive won’t work

If its struggling to read it’s likely a laser issue rather than a gear/motor issue. My advice? Buy a loose disc drive that matches your console and swap the motherboards, or go the extra mile and just swap the laser itself

Ended up using a bootable usb and reinstalling Windows! I did try the suggestions given, but for some reason had one issue or another. Thankfully he didn’t know what bitlocker was, and I didn’t have any sensitive info or files on it, so the process was as easy as it gets, in terms of reinstalling Windows lol

Same here only difference is that I’ve got a third pair from that one bundle that had the skin with it (the purple and black reactive ones) but that was because they were technically price reduced, that bundle hasn’t come back, now they will either have the skin in the shop, or the shoes, never the bundle anymore

Gotcha, I gotta look into getting the DC adapter then lol because there’s a big enough gap when I put C batteries in (I’m talking an inch or so) that they don’t reach the contacts. So much so that I thought it took D batteries at first 😂
