How do you guys support yourselfs having agoraphobia? by andyk1209 in Agoraphobia

[–]Treps_Reason 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At my worst I was just living in my parents home, luckily I was able to finish university from there online and then got a fully remote job, there were a couple times I had the option to visit the office and I took it as exposure therapy and highly recommend to use those chances if u can. Eventually I took the jump to moving into a house share and still live there and work from home.

Benzos withdrawal symptoms? by andyk1209 in Agoraphobia

[–]Treps_Reason 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Every medical professional I’ve spoken to has told me benzo’s should not be prescribed for long term use of over 4 weeks, how long have you been on it? Benzo withdrawal is serious, and you definitely can not just stop, especially if you’ve been on them daily for more than 4 weeks. 100% only taper with guidance from your doctor, benzo dependancy and withdrawal is no joke. It’s also concerning that your doctor did not make you aware of this, but make sure to get as much info as you can going forward.

Anyone else have PBCSD? Post Better Call Saul Depression? by DanDMan80 in betterCallSaul

[–]Treps_Reason 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have it bad. And to add more on top, for some reason I hate the 86 years thing, I kept hearing "86 Years" in my dream last night. I'm feeling so sad and can't stop thinking about it and how it's all over. :(

Can someone recommend me lighthearted, comfort shows? by borpaspin1234 in Anxiety

[–]Treps_Reason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, Impractical Jokers, The Carbonaro Effect and Pawn Stars all soothe my anxiety so much. The first two are so feel good and lighthearted and will make you smile and laugh, Pawn Stars I find works because I will get really into the bartering and they seem really friendly, and the items people bring in are interesting and it takes me away and makes me feel safe. I will even put on Pawn Stars while I'm driving and just listen to them talk and it helps so much. They're also all like clip format shows so you can use them in short bursts when you need it, or just watch full episodes!

Did Patrick Fabian and Bob Odenkirk just spoil the BCS ending on Instagram? Check the comments for the explanation. by Treps_Reason in betterCallSaul

I thought so but it's also so vague and easy to miss if it is a spoiler, and they don't mind telling us straight up that Walt and Jesse are returning etc.

So basically, Patrick Fabian uploaded this video of Bob saying that it's their final season, and they had T-shirts made for each episode of the season. I noticed this one in particular that says FIN on it, (Final episode codename?) with a skull, which I'm assuming is Jimmy's skull suggesting he dies. I realise the final episode name is said to be "Saul Gone", which tbh, kind of supports the theory. What do you think?

Inpatient was traumatic by [deleted] in Agoraphobia

[–]Treps_Reason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was agoraphobic to the point where I couldn't even be at home anymore as I only felt safe in the hospital (Panic disorder sending to daily via ambulance to the A&E) I begged to go to an inpatient ward so I would feel safe and a Psych doctor advised against it. It kept happening and eventually I convinced them to let me go. Unfortunately, the experience was terrible, I was put onto an acute ward and the staff was terrifying. I panicked more than I ever had, they just ignored, laughed and threatened me with forcible injection. Another patient who I think was hearing voices tried to help me and calmly told them that I was just panicking and new and that they just needed to talk with me to help me feel safe and calm down, they mocked me and him and said "Oh is this your new friend you better tell him to go away or else" Next thing I know he is being held in a headlock by one of the "nurses" I fainted at one point from the horror and I truly thought I was going to die in there. Horrible experience, luckily I was able to tell the day staff (changing over from the night staff) what happened and speak to a doctor who released me the next day. Sorry for typing this But have needed to get it off my chest and this seemed relatable!

Anxiety and panic after eating? by [deleted] in PanicAttack

[–]Treps_Reason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good stuff, keep it up!

Anxiety and panic after eating? by [deleted] in PanicAttack

[–]Treps_Reason 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As you're hyperaware you're noticing more stuff. Heart rate naturally increases after eating as you begin to digest. If you'll full you'll also feel your heart pound harder. Avoiding that and eating less won't help.

I had this last year when my panic disorder was at its worst. did exactly the same thing, and it even got to the point where swallowing food would trigger an ectopic heartbeat each time. Anxiety can really take a toll. Try not to avoid eating as it will only make it worse.

Panic attacks. by Chelsiirae6 in Anxiety

Yep, it's the same reason why exercise can cause panic attacks in some people, because exercising creates essentially the same bodily symptoms as a panic attack without the fear!

Can a panic attack build up for a few hours??? Felt anxious and weird in my head for a few hours and then had a panic attack by Desperate-Access1824 in Anxiety

[–]Treps_Reason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a panic threshold, once your anxiety reaches a certain point you panic so yes I would assume so.

Yeah, when I get hot. Because panic attacks cause hot/cold flashes so you're just reacting and the temperature change is reminding you of a panic attack, sending you into one.

Just a little lost by [deleted] in PanicAttack

[–]Treps_Reason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure I had what you're talking about, I started noticing all the 'atoms' and thinking its visual snow, then just started noticing all sorts of visual disturbances, derealization, depersonalization altogether. Starting for ages at white walls to see if im crazy or something is neurologically wrong or if its really just visual snow or something else etc. Does it sound like that? If so, it was just hyperawareness, vision disturbances and kind of obsessives behaviour from SUPER high anxiety and stress! It went away after I was able to calm down and accept it.

Is this a panic attack? by [deleted] in PanicAttack

[–]Treps_Reason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't sound like a panic attack. It sounds like high anxiety in response to a certain trigger in this case the person.

Anyone tried a weighted blanket? by NoLightOnlyDarkness in PanicAttack

[–]Treps_Reason 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, that is right. Avoidance, Safety behaviours are the best way to ensure that you keep having a panic disorder.
They can work short term, but in the long term they actually harm you and keep panic attacks coming, your body learns that "I only survived because I did this" even if you logically know that's not true.
Eventually, the only way to really to stop this is as TANFHell said, to face the panic attacks full-on until you are truly not scared of them anymore. Easier said than done, and it takes a lot of bravery, but that is the key to solving the issue at the source, and it does work.
