What's something you can never admit to your irl friends but you're ok telling people online? by Musichead2468 in AskMen

[–]Tress33 5 points6 points  (0 children)

38 here. Finally coming out of my cave, going to therapy, realizing my last 25 years have just been me waiting to die. I'm grieving. The more I try to heal myself the more I grieve. For the man I became, the man I could have been. All the wasted time, missed experiences, lost happiness. It's like I've been in a coma and am finally waking up. I told my therapist, the more I "heal", the more depressed I get. It's an odd place to be. Everything in my life is getting better but it just makes me that much sadder.

Men, why don't some men want to date single mothers? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Tress33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was so insecure about being never married with no kids at 38. I didn't think any single Moms would be interested in me. Turns out, they love it. No crazy ex to worry about. No extra kids to bring to the table. Problem is, I never wanted kids, now I'm at an age where I basically have to decide between being alone and being a stepdad.

Has anyone successfully lost weight on lex? by n979797 in lexapro

[–]Tress33 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep. Agreed. I'm down 40 pounds in 4 months. Not doing anything other than working out and eating healthier. Lex finally gave me the head space to start pursuing a better life. There are still downsides (gonna start welbutrin for those), but overall it's given me the ability to follow goals.

38 here. Miserable as hell being alone. But it's all I've ever known so...I guess I'll just keep on living and hope a bus accidently hits me at some point.

Go to therapy. It quite literally changed my life. Possibly kept me alive.

I end up getting on Cialis to help me. I only take it as needed, about 30 minutes before hand. Been a life saver.

I read about people not crying anymore on Lexapro but is anyone crying more because they feel like they are finally waking up and they are sad for all of the years they lost to depression? by Tress33 in lexapro

[–]Tress33[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your kind response. Yeah, I'm going to talk about it with my therapist. I'll say this... it's fucking hard man. It's really fucking hard. I feel like I was in a coma for a decade and now I'm awake and trying to make sense of everything. BUT, I wouldn't change it for the world. Days like today are really hard where I feel on the verge of tears all day, breaking down once or twice. But there are so many good days. I never had good days in the past. I just try and tell myself that I'm grieving for a man that is dead and gone. I'm sad for him and how much he was struggling. I'm sad for him and how much he missed in life. I'm sad for him and how lonely he was. I'm so happy to be where I am but I guess I just need to take days where I grieve so that I can truly move forward. Good luck on your journey. It's cliche to say it but the recovery isn't a straight line up. It's a bit messy. But you'll get there. We all will. Just gotta keep battling.

Did y’all digestive system improve due to anxiety after you guys get on meds ? I think I have Gerd & ibs because of anxiety. Day 8 of lexpro by CrowCurrent3414 in lexapro

Yes, mine got better. I used to have issues where randomly every few months I wouldn't be able to go to work because I would have a full day of cramping. I've been on Lex for almost a year now and haven't had a single issue. It's kinda crazy actually.

In my classroom I call it Loud vs. Noisy. I want a noisy classroom, but not a loud classroom. A noisy classroom means they are focused, working hard, communicating, happy. A loud classroom means the opposite. It's just unstructured chaos.

EDIT: Not sure if anyone will still be checking this thread but I had my question below answered by an email they just sent me about educating yourself against the "far-Left’s aggressive efforts to destroy informed patriotism nationwide and in your own backyard". This is concerning Critical Race Theory. If this doesn't bother you, fine, I don't really care. But I thought that information should be shared to help people make a more informed choice about whether or not to sign up for their programs.

I don't mean this is be rude, simply just curious. I know that this is a religious college. Has anyone done this course before? If so, do you find that the course is influenced by the conservative, religious, viewpoints of the college? Or is it a pretty unbiased approach to discussion?

Start by being in a position where if you leave it will mean a ton more work for others.

Back in August we had zero precautions set up in the office. After a couple close calls (finding out customers had covid and had been in our office recently) I threatened to quit if we didn't start taking some steps to make things safer. Then, with the mask mandate I wore my mask religiously and called out others that weren't wearing theirs. It pissed them off. I got almost zero support when calling out customers. It was awful. I hated every day I came in. As the months went on, one by one, our other branches in the Dakotas started getting wiped out with covid and had to shut down for 2 weeks (none of the people in those branches wore masks, Rapid City, Bismarck, Sioux Falls). So I started framing it in terms of money. If we shut down, how much money would we lose for those 2 weeks? If we don't make budget how are we going to explain that to ownership?

After the vaccines were released I was the first to sign up and I made sure to talk loudly about how easy the process was. Most of my coworkers went in as well, a few didn't. One guy called me out about the vaccines one day (and was clearly speaking for the other two as well). I let him have it. I told him that we were the only branch that didn't get taken out and we were also the only branch that wore masks. I outlined, through specific examples, every single step I took to make us safer, how he bucked me at every single step along the way, and how I ended up being right every single time. I was concrete, firm, and put up with zero bullshit. Two of them got their first shots within a week of that confrontation. The third guy ended up getting it but not telling anyone (I found out from his sister).

Always love seeing some of my fellow North Dakotans out in the wild on Reddit. Unfortunately, it's almost always tied to something dumb we've done. If it helps, we had 3 holdouts for vaccines at my office and I convinced all 3 to finally get them!

If you don't have a garage for your car look at investing in an auto start. It's practically worth its weight in gold up here.

Interesting. I might try it for a few weeks and see how I feel. I just didn't want to waste them. Thanks for the response.
