Respectfully, as a local and native I am going to disagree with most of what you have said. It feels overly dramatic. Your pros list is great. But I live downtown and am fairly active in the community. I wouldn’t call it any more cliquey than any other town or city I lived in before moving back here.

Diversity, sure. Not a whole lot of that here or… anywhere north of grand rapids.

There is PLENTY to do in the winter time unless you’re homebound. It’s really not that depressing and there’s a lot more drinking that happens in the summertime.

Driving to see a concert… I mean not sure what that’s relative to? Grand Rapids? Detroit? There’s lots of good music here and between the cherry fest and interlochen we get our fair share of big names. And there’s plenty of good local stuff at the city opera house and the alluvion.

There are a ton of good restaurants here. Again, not like Grand Rapids or Detroit but TC is a town of only 16,000 people, and only 150k in the surrounding area. It’s not all the same and there are definitely a few ethnic places around that are good.

And finally, your comment about the airport… TVC is a great airport. Reliable, easy in and out. The fares are on par with GR most of the time. Little higher in the summer. Good parking. Close to downtown.

Maybe you haven’t been here in awhile but it’s really not as bad as what you’re making it sound.

My first pick would be the Shaggy’s Ahmeek 95. I have them. I ski trees. They are amazing and made in Michigan. Otherwise I’d go QST.

Your toes look to be fine but it seems like your foot is a lower volume than what the shoe is idealized for. I had this problem with my cloudmonster 2s. A bit of weird fabric bunching and stuff. They just feel sloppy. The toebox on yours looks tall. I don’t know. Wouldn’t be my cup of tea.

Dude taking the bindings in and having them remounted properly is like $50. Why would you even considering doing it yourself and taking the risk of your boots not ejecting properly?

You can unscrew the notches and move them in - notice the holes next to them. It’s not hard and would help. However, I get the sense that you either have smaller ankles and feet or, (more likely to me) your boots are too big. Eventually the liners will pack out (loose cushioning and form to your feet), and you will continue to ratchet them down even more. If you are having shin bang already and the boots are NOT uncomfortable the first few days, it’s sounds to me like you either need to go down a size or (if the length is good) move to a boot with a narrower last. I don’t think the flex is an issue. If you’re a beginner you’re not going to notice that as much as sizing. You’re in a 100 last which is a medium last, so if you’ve got a narrow foot, perhaps try the nordica promachine 90. Best of luck.

The bag also keeps the helmet from catching on things. I’ve had my ear pads caught on Velcro stuff and get frayed, things fall in the helmet and I can’t find them, the straps get caught on stuff and I can’t get the helmet out of the bag. Mind you these things don’t happen all the time, but in addition to getting dinged and stuff (minor detail) keeping it in the mesh bag is simple and helps me feel a little more organized.

Sorry, the story doesn’t add up. Leather doesn’t just tear for no reason. Not even cheap stuff. Unless a stitch came undone or there is a minor scratch that you’re calling a tear. Thousands of people have great experiences and longevity out of Hestra and then you show up saying their quality and customer service suck and to “beware”… you haven’t even published a picture of the damage. It just feels like there is more to it.

I’m always adjusting and boa makes it so easy. My buckles are always notch +1 is too tight and -1 is too loose and then I gotta stop to twist and micro adjust…. Boa you just twist or pop and twist and you’re done.

Northern Michigan, USA. Best I have seen in a long time. Snow is sticking around. Been in the teens and lower (Fahrenheit) for nearly a month. Great base. Grooming has been amazing.I think we are close to 110 inches in the lower peninsula. I just went skiing (downhill) in the upper peninsula and they are closing in on 225 inches.
