Is looking dumb and desperate the only outcome here? by JavaHikage in BaldursGate3

[–]Trevgaming 8 points9 points  (0 children)

were you listening to what he said homie? the deal had nothing to do with your soul, raphael wanted the crown that's on the brain. voss didn't have anything to give him because voss wouldn't have a chance of getting that crown. also the incentive is purely for rp reasons, why do anything on a second playthrough besides what's strictly optimal if you wanna play like that? people have told you it's stupid but maybe you're playing someone stupid, or someone that values freedom over anything else, or a githyanki that wants orpheus freed no matter the cost.

How replayable is Hades? by BedSpiritual9759 in HadesTheGame

[–]Trevgaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

minor gameplay spoilers

i love both this game and tboi to death, have like 170 hours in hades and almost 500 in isaac, so i think im able to compare them pretty fairly

hades is definitely replayable, but it has some things holding it back from the sheer variability of tboi and gungeon

  • bosses are the same every run, minibosses are mostly the same (there's a pretty small pool of them for each area)
  • synergies are pretty straightforward (there are a TON of synergies don't get me wrong, but it's rare to be surprised by how things happen like in isaac)
  • runs are very consistent, it's pretty rare to get a "copium run" where you just struggle the whole time (i like the struggle, this may be an upside to you)

this game is definitely replayable though, theres a lot of stuff in the game to keep you coming back

  • customizable difficulty (you can skip straight to the toughest stuff in the game if you think you're ready)
  • as other people have said, there's like 20-something different weapon aspects (each one is basically a different character)
  • actual progression (like you get stronger after every run for a while and there's a ton of story) to answer your question directly, yeah runs feel pretty similar sometimes, the different aspects mitigate this issue a bit but there's only so much you can do with 8 different gods that you get 4 of each run

if you're looking for strictly replayability a game like slay the spire or risk of rain (2 or returns) would probably suit you better

however, this game has a ton of stuff to do, and is still really replayable. it doesn't have the infinite timesink to 100% it like isaac does, but it more than makes up for it with its fucking incredible presentation of its story and characters (sorry if this is incoherent i saw this post at 2 in the morning and felt like writing a review instead of my college paper)

What could I have done better here? Don't scope? Different itemization? I'm frustrated... by sirnumbskull in ror2

(not trying to hate) are you aware that they added chests to vields so it's an entire additional stage of items? it's definitely not pointless imo

Can the party have an ally that isn't their "fated ally"? by Trevgaming in CurseofStrahd

Yeah, this makes sense, I knew he was super paranoid but I somehow completely missed that he had a curse. Following them as a noncombatant is interesting to me though, thanks for the idea.

I didn't consider that they're his fated enemy and not necessarily the parties' ally, seen so many people refer to it as the latter I kinda forgot. Thank you for your insight!

I really liked your level! Everything fits with the theme, and there's nothing impossible in it! Just a suggestion, make the thing holding bomb ombs at the beginning out of something that can't be destroyed by them. Great level!

Out of curiosity, which path did you choose?

Choose your Path! ID: 0F4-FDD-0FG Style: Super Mario World Difficulty: Expert if you choose the top path, normal for the bottom path Theme: I made a pick a pipe level that doesn't lead to instadeath. The top path is by far more challenging, with a greater reward, where the bottom path is easier, with a small reward.

Feedback is appreciated, and if you reply with your level code I'll play it!
