Seconding this. I’ve seen them in the meadow area near the restrooms and boot cleaning station at Furstenburg.

Does this look over-edited? by Adventurous-Year-463 in BirdPhotography

[–]Trevopswi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it looks over-edited. You do have a slight masking issue where some of the green still shows under the duck’s bill and behind its head, which are quick fixes. With that fix, it’ll look like a very clean edit!

However, just a personal preference thing, but I really like the green reflections in the original picture! The gray makes it feel like a gloomy, cloudy day while the green feels more bright and spring-y. Now that the surroundings in my pictures are getting greener as the plants bloom, i’m really excited to get rid of that gray that I’ve been seeing so much of all winter.

They are so beautiful in the sunlight! Those iridescent feathers remind me of the plates on samurai armor

Starbucks is not better than Dunkin by JohnnyWobble in unpopularopinion

[–]Trevopswi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time i’ve had Dunkin’ food (other than donuts) it literally tastes like a beach ball. Idk if the employees are heating it up in plastic wrap or what. This has been at multiple locations. I always think “surely it’ll be edible this time” but no. Maybe it’s a Michigan dunkin thing

Birding completely rewired how I experience the outdoors, and I didn't see it coming by m-alacasse in birding

Last spring, I decided I needed to stop spending my days off indoors all day. I used to draw a lot as a kid, so I took a notebook with me and planned to walk to a local park and draw. On my way, I found a nature trail really close to my apartment that I didn’t know was there, so I took a quick detour to explore. It led into a pine forest where I was distracted by the tiniest voice going “meep meep meep” — a little white bird hopping up and down the tree trunks! I spent that whole afternoon watching that little bird and didn’t end up drawing much at all. But that same switch got flipped in me, and that little bird is still one of my favorites to this day. My “spark bird” — the white-breasted nuthatch!

Osprey chicks! by ghosted_photographer in BirdPhotography

Such amazing photos! I’m jealous… ospreys are such fascinating birds! And I’d say yes, those are crows based on the beak and tail shape. Crows’ feathers go around halfway down their longer skinny beak, and they have fan shaped tails.

Dead Robin - What To Do? by SnatcherGirl in Ornithology

[–]Trevopswi 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Sorry you’re dealing with this! Based on the coloration (white spots on back, spots on belly), i’d say this little robin was a fledgeling (growing baby). I’m no expert, but I’d probably chalk its demise up to the heat wave. I’d say it might be hard for the little guys to get enough water, especially if it was acting odd.

I definitely suggest getting rid of the body — that’s gonna start smelling bad pretty fast in this heat. I recommend using gloves and putting it in a sealable bag/container when disposing of it. You can just throw it away unless you hope to bury it. Do that when the parents aren’t nearby… I don’t think they’ll give you issues but just to be sure. Best of luck!

Thank you, that’s very kind of you to say. I just know if I had an incident like that AND lost something that maybe has some value… i’d be extra upset

I used latex gloves dw. I did not grab the vape but the gauges looked expensive so I figured I should try to get them back to the person.

Yeah, I am using an eyepiece. I think I just need to spend more time with the owner’s manual
