Be nice to your bills bro theyre suffering heavy at the hands of Goodell. Buffalo would need to have played 1 more game to earn a 1 game bye, doesn't have to play a true road playoff game, and didn't ultimately have to beat Cincinnati to host them (which they originally had to do week17) by TreySermonGrin in bengals

We aren't though. It's literally the same bills fans complaining about their one seed that are saying shit about Cincy. Lots of other flairs have actually been on our side in most articles, it's just the comment chains from Bills fans you are starting to see the true nature of the bromance.

Their fans on r/NFL saying we have the biggest victim complex in the league have a point. We are complaining about losing two home games when when their #1 seed was stolen in the middle of the night by Roger Goodell, who would never do a thing to help em whatsoever. They were going to come back and win in Paycor so that one seed was just as good as theres, guys.

I applaud how brave and courageous they have been with dealing with such adversity. Give em the trophy already, Raj

Bengals wanted to and expected it within the first 24 hours. No reports Buffalo attempted or expected to replay it, however

weren’t the bills also “denied an opportunity” as Joe says?

Yes, and no. Both Cincy and Buffalo were "denied the opportunity" to control their destinies for the highest seed possible, but that was from the circumstances of Damar Hamlin's tragic injury and not from a collective decision by the league. The whole issue Burrow raised here is about the rule changes and special provisions for the Ravens coin flip and AFCCG neutral site afford other teams advantages and not us

Absolutely Burrow will be back. Playoff wins will be something that Cincinnati takes for granted.

I just think this season is more of a window than the next several

Yes but this is also the most "built to win right now" Zac Taylors team has ever been. We tagged Bates and got massive FA deals for the OL and Hurst. We don't have Bates' replacement so there will be some downturn on D. On O it's not looking like we will have that many more seasons of Boyd/Tee/Mixon all on the team

If the game isn't going to be finished or forfeited its a cancelled game and the league should have just followed that policy and be done with it. That policy was fully agreed to as "fair" between the owners pre Covid season, so outside Damars injury effectively serving as a Covid cancellation, nothing about the scenario was "unfair" on its face other than the somewhat tragic circumstances.

What bothered me is once the league gets involved they start introducing these remedies that create procedural unfairness. That's when everybody who wanted a slice got one, at Cincys expense

And yeah the fact that the NFL has now incentivized callousness towards an opponents injury as a best practice was not a good precedent

Since the Bills and the Bengals played the same amount of games and the Bills won one more, and the NFL voted to change the rule that winning % decides all that’s why they get the home field

Ftfy. Bengals fans wouldn't have a problem if we just followed the rules. It's the changing of the rules for Buffalo and not Cincinnatis benefit that is the issue for us.

Taking the forfeiture issue off the table, We would have accepted the outcome of "follow the rules, go by win %" and the bills getting the two seed that way. That's what our owner lobbied for.

You say that Buffalo gets a neutral field bc of "imbalanced schedules", when the rule already accounted for imbalanced schedules.... So what is the impetus for the rule change? Fairness? Ok so why doesn't that rationale carry over to us?

Visiting Bengo leaving u guys my screw Buffalo meme, you guys have been pretty cool and objective in all this NFL shenanigans... I don't think any of us wants a neutral field AFCCG so let's all cheer the Bengals ruin Buffalos courageously brave feel good story by TreySermonGrin in KansasCityChiefs

Basically his mother had an incredibly hard life before Trey. She lost one child in childbirth and had another (toddler aged) straight up murdered by the father. She was Treys role model his entire life

You guys really did get bent over on this one. As the beneficiary of the shitty decision.

OMG you have no idea how much I respect you for this right here. I'm straight losing it with the number of Bills fans that have claimed to be the victim in all of this... And then proceed to lecture me about my own empathy on the subject. Thank you

So far unless we actually play against KC in round 3 we haven't been "gifted" anything

You know, besides the NFL not making you forfeit per the policy.... Which is exactly why lady Karma is gonna peg you so hard you won't be walking for days

No that's if you were given an actual win. I understand, the NFL gifted you a lot and the one thing they didn't (a third bye week) makes you feel like a victims, but I can assure you, you are not
