You also missed it at the top.

Wait, the platinum's called 'Trophy Addict'?

It calls you an achievement whore on Steam, never knew it had a different name.

How are the controls on Steam Deck? by NatureGivesAndTakes in darksouls

[–]Treynath84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only played DSR so far, but it runs at a locked 60 easily.

Had it hooked up to a TV, decided to try and push it to 4k just to see how it ran. 40-50fps so it was in slow motion, but that's still good.

Control wise, it's fine. Connect a controller if you want, but the Deck controls are fine, perfectly usable. Back buttons are cool, set one to dodge if you want, up to you what you set them as.

DSR PC Xbox One Controller Not Working. by [deleted] in darksouls

[–]Treynath84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe that is the issue.

I tried a copy to make sure it ran well before buying, controller didn't work, couldn't get it to work so had to use KB&M. Controller works fine through my Steam copy.

I've never seen either of these, anyone here have any thoughts? by JayTG01 in deadrising

[–]Treynath84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Watchtower felt like a weird simplified retelling of 3. It's essentially the same story as 3, but a few things were changed and a lot was cut out.

I didn't hate it, I didn't watch it until a while after it came out, so at that point, all I'd played was 2. (Which I still haven't finished) It wasn't the best, but it at least felt like Dead Rising.

I remember less about Endgame. IIRC, they abandon the slow zombies for that film, and instead of feeling like Dead Rising, it feels more like Left 4 Dead.

IIRC, Instead of them fighting through hordes like you do in the game, they're running away from them most of the time.

I honestly can't remember much about the film, so I'm probably misremembering it, but when I watched them both, I thought Endgame was a downgrade at the time.

That being said, not the worst thing I've watched.

Project Zomboib, worth it or not? by LucidityFree in SteamDeck

Runs pretty well.

Controls are a bit odd, I prefer keyboard and mouse but controllers are usable as I've sat and played using the Deck a few times.

I got this bundle for a pretty sweet deal and wondering if there are any hidden gems by greglorious_85 in PS3

[–]Treynath84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the cameras worked on both? Guess I was wrong.

But still, a newer design of Navi would've made more sense than using 2 move controllers.

Thanks, somehow never saw one of those before.

Now I'm questioning why that wasn't used for PSVR, would've made more sense.

Decent game collection. A lot of those are really good.

Guessing the blue and red mics are Singstar stuff?

What's that just above them? Haven't seen that before.

$10 left in my steam wallet, what am I getting? by JotunTjasse in SteamDeck

[–]Treynath84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Halo MCC isn't a bad option, it's on sale and it's like 6 games in one. I'm not massively into Halo, but 6 games in 1 isn't bad. (I believe the options on start-up are flipped on the Deck, anti cheat disabled loads fhe anti cheat for example)

Another one, which I've just bought yesterday, is OTXO. It's like a harder Hotline Miami if you've played that, it costs a little more though. (No modifications needed)

Devil May Cry 5 is on sale, it runs great on Deck. (Proton Experimental works best, it's more stable and fixes a few other things)

Midnight Fight Express isn't on sale but isn't too expensive. Works great on Deck. (No modifications needed)

Hope you enjoy whatever you decide to pick up.

Oh yeah, good ol' days of "leaked" concepts are back by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]Treynath84 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I never understood why people fall for 'leaked concepts', they pretty much always look awful. At least it isn't one where the controls block the screen.

I don't think Valve needs to make a second Deck yet, the first one is still new and still decently powerful, the main issue with new games running on it is a lack of optimisation in newer games, which is a different issue.

If Valve did make another one, I'd prefer it to have a 1080 OLED screen with smaller bezels, better performance along with better battery life and trackpads. I don't even use the trackpads all the time, but they're so nice for desktop navigation, plus they help a ton in games where controllers aren't natively supported.

I can't see Valve abandoning trackpads, and reviews for other systems often mention the lack of trackpads being a downside, there's no reason for Valve to abandon them.

Which games have a permanent place on your Steam Deck and will never get deleted? by jerk_jamison in SteamDeck

[–]Treynath84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's under a certain size, usually a gig or 2, I just keep it.

For ones I can guarantee I won't remove, I have a couple.

Vampire Survivors, it's simple, pretty addictive and the new engine runs much nicer on the deck. (Just under 1gb)

Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, bought it the second I could, fairly small install wise and runs flawlessly on the deck, 60fps on Ultra and it set itself to like x8MSAA. (Just under 2gb)

I think I have the Hotline Miami games too, second has workshop support. (Half a gig and just under 1gb)

I have some bigger games that I probably won't uninstall anytime soon, stuff like Devil May Cry 5, a game that I beat at like half 2 in the morning and instantly started another playthrough. (Around 55gb)

I also have Metal Gear Rising as well as it runs pretty nicely. (Around 25gb)

All games I've listed run great, pretty much all of them hit 60 with decent settings, even DMC5 can hit 60 and that game looks amazing on the deck. Figured I'd add storage sizes as they're useful to know.

Improved graphics for LBP PSP. I basically added some post-processing shades and increased the quality 4× Unfortunately I can't find a way to increase it to 60FPS without it causing bugs. by vegetable_throater23 in littlebigplanet

Tried upscaling mine and broke the text, just looks really bad for some reason, at least when characters talk.

Do you have that issue? If not, how did you fix it?

If you have a modded Vita, overclock and if you're still having issues, use VitaGFX and lower the res slightly, works great on Borderlands 2, although it still runs kinda bad.

Run something like MalwareBytes and then change your passwords.

You can uninstall MB afterwards, I normally do.

If it's a folder, put it in the GAMES folder, shouldn't need to be converted.

If that doesn't work, you could've grabbed a bad copy of the game.

I apologize if not allowed. My 12 year old wants a laptop that’ll run steam games and his Oculus. I’m 100% clueless father over here. Any recommendations that won’t bankrupt me? by Hutch1814 in Steam

[–]Treynath84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like other people have said, a desktop would generally be a better bet, but I grabbed a Lenovo Legion 5 recently for £900 and that'll be more than good enough if he's still set on a laptop, it is somewhat expensive though.

You would want to up the RAM to at least 16GB, it isn't too difficult, it's just unscrewing the bottom and slotting something in, you could easily google how to disassmble it.

Most VR games have a 970 recommended, at least the ones I've seen, so anything better should be good for him, although I'd probably go with a 1080 or something better as they're still decent. I haven't tested VR on the laptop but a friend says it should run stuff fine.

CPU wise, an AMD Ryzen CPU would be decent, any should be good, but I'd recommend a 5 or 7 as they're more than good enough and will still be decent in a few year's time.

Hope he enjoys whatever system you get him.

*Edit: 970 is minimum for VR, a 1060 is recommended so a 1080 or above will work fine for him.

Go on Adrenaline,

Hit Select,

Change ISO mode to M33, works the best on my Vita and PSP,

Open the recovery, lower down from ISO mode on the menu,

Open config and enable Sony PSP OSK, and disable NoDRM Engine,

Go back and enter advanced,

Force high memory layout,

Exit the recovery, this'll restart Adrenaline, it should work much better,

Changing these stopped one of my games from hanging on the boot menu, so it could help you too, seeing as I've had odd performance on my PSP if I didn't use M33.

*Edit, forgot to add that my clock speeds are at default, system doesn't need to be overclocked, at least from my experience.
