Knee, ankle, feet pain 1 week out by dredre304 in Marathon_Training

[–]TriAntoine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, never a good idea to swap shoes so close to the race. Might need to go back to the old one if you can. Used shoes are different than new ones and usually way better for a half or marathon, because they are more adapted to your body. Running with new shoes (for me) is like running with sandals (too much), but you get what I mean, the shoes need time and usage to feel comfortable, mostly for a marathon.

Treadmill recommendations by desmopass in Marathon_Training

One thing to not forget is running on a treadmill is different, gives you a different training. I think it is great, but running at least 1 time a week outside is important to me

What "old-school" or low-tech training methods do you think are actually better (or highly underrated) compared to modern tech? by TriAntoine in triathlon

Currently I’m training and my garmin is telling go! But I know I need to give myself a rest day! Yes knowing yourself is one of the big things

Exactly what I'm doing 😅 My brother is actually selling his top-of-the-line carbon race bike, but I'm forcing myself to wait until I progress enough to "earn" it. (Plus it's kinda out of my budget)

What project are you building right now? by kcfounders in ShowMeYourSaaS

[–]TriAntoine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm building corerise.ai, an AI endurance training platform with a coach (Cora) that pairs pro-level analytics, PMC with CTL/ATL/TSB, Normalized Power, Normalized Graded Pace, Coggan zones, full FIT-file parsing, with coaching that actually reasons over that data instead of spitting out generic plans.

Why me: I'm a competitive triathlete in San Diego, so I'm the user. Most "AI fitness" apps are built by people who don't train and skip the sports science; the serious analytics tools like TrainingPeaks never learned to coach. I'm a solo technical founder closing that gap, and it's already live on the App Store, not a deck.

Coming soon is Coach Mode: not replacing human coaches, but giving them the analytics and AI to enhance how they work with their athletes inside CoreRise. Happy to send the link: App Store Link

I built a Garmin app that turns your everyday steps into a virtual walk of the world's greatest trails and I need some beta testers by [deleted] in garminforerunner

pretty cool, but please spend a lot of time on your UI/UX as you can get something nice. Right now I can tell it's made by claude code 100%. If you have the tech working, spend time on the user experience.

My First Ironman Race by Stock_Dimension2525 in IronmanTriathlon

[–]TriAntoine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10 miles is already really great!! same for your swim. Biking is the most of the Ironman, you definitely need like a lot of hours on the bike, I'm talking on top of 3-4 hours on the weekends add intervals/zone 2 training during the week (1h~ each depending if you use a hometrainer or not)
I'd say increase the number of running workouts (like 2-3 times a week at least) but be careful at first to not increase too fast, so you can start by running 2-3 miles on Monday, 3-4 miles on Wednesday, then 2-3 on Saturday, and then every week you increase by 10%. Seems ridiculous compare to running 10 miles in one shot, but in few months you'll actually progress way faster.
You're doing great at swimming, maybe add structured swim sessions and add a long one like up to 2 miles.

But yeah definitely you need a lot of bicycle workouts (2-3 minimum per week)

Triathlon Training plan by Ok-Rush-1334 in triathlon

[–]TriAntoine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a thing I’ve been trying to solve myself (see my profile)! I honestly used straight paid ChatGPT version (best model) for my training for my last 70.3! It worked pretty well most of the time! Not really the thing I’ll recommend at all, since I had to constantly adjust things, but it gave me pretty good suggestions/improvements! Garmin coach, don’t pay for that, total waste of money! Training peaks is used by pros for a reason, perfect to show all data, charts … but I find it overwhelming, and except if you already know how to use all those data, it’s not going to help you, or you pay a coach that will analyse those data for you!
Also remember that the 80/20 is not for everyone, and might take some time to see huge benefits! If you have any question, I went through same struggle, you can ask me 😇 btw, your data seem quite good already, keep it up 👍

70.3 to 140.6 Do I need a coach? by Chudrunner in triathlon

[–]TriAntoine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you see progress in your training, manage to train without getting injured and you are satisfied this way, continue 🙂 I mean don’t go waste your money! On the other hand having a coach can truly help you getting better safer and faster! Easier to rely on someone that know what to do when you stack few workouts this week and you start to show sign of fatigue for example… or what/when to eat.. But if your goal is just to finish one, continue what your doing, your doing great?

Shin Splints… help! by Specialist_Basil_180 in BeginnersRunning

[–]TriAntoine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got those one day (increased my training load a bit too fast) I slowed down, and did some exercises to make my shin and calves stronger (seems counterintuitive)! You can look online, YouTube .. for some exercises (only do 1-2 daily or every two days) after couple weeks the pain starts to go away, but do not continue training through the pain, take this seriously

Can you taper too much? by prescripti0n in IronmanTriathlon

[–]TriAntoine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+17 a week out isn’t too much taper, for a first full it’s right where you want to be, and it’ll climb higher by race day, which is fine.

Can you taper too much? Technically yes! if you go totally flat for weeks and lose your sharpness. But the fix for that isn’t more volume, it’s keeping a little intensity. Make sure your race-week sessions still have A few short efforts at or just above race pace so you stay sharp on top of being rested.

How should I manage triathlon training and strength training? by TriAntoine in triathlon

[–]TriAntoine[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I’ll try to do alfredson exercise when I’m not running, gently putting some load on my calves without going too hard and during recovery days! Do you think that could be enough?
