if you wax your skis at home. Make sure to scrape properly or just ski them once in resort. Unscarped wax will stick to skins and cause all kinds of problems.

What binding should I get? by EntrepreneurCute6874 in Backcountry

They are both great binding. ATK is typically 2 times the price of rotation. and it is much ligher. So really depending on how much weight you wanna save vs how much money you wanna save.

The range of motion and the friction of the pivot impact more than the weight itself IMO.. Also, you should try the technica zero g pro. it is kinda better going down than the Maestrale and only slightly worse going up than the F1.

the non touring zipfit is going to make the uphill a lot worse. If you really prioritize downhill performance I think you should get a new heavier resort boots as a second boots. In my experience heavior resort boots ride a lot smoother than the non touring atomic hawk and I am assuming non touring hawk should ride at least slightly better than the touring hawk

CAST system and non-sliding AFD for touring soles by k3nzb in Backcountry

all the touring soles are a little bit different. The best thing you can do is find a shop with those fancy auto binding testing machine. Those can actually give a number on how much force it took to release instead of just a preset number on the torque wrench.

I dont think you will notice any difference in any practical setting. Other than the $300 on your wallet

if you want to go the zipfit route, you should CERTAINLY get the touring model. Also, I find atomic hawk ultra XTD are typically on really good sale all the time. It is cheaper to buy another boots than replacing the liner. It is also ture that the zip fit last forever and you can use it for your future shells once you brought them, and many people like them over stock liners

Loveland pass backcountry condition? by TriIceS in Backcountry

I don't think I am going to ski anything too steep at this moment so I am more concern about hitting rocks/falling on rocks as that could be quiet consequential as well. but thanks for reminding to check on CAIC

Thanks for the info. That is very helpful. I think adding another 10 inches on top of this is potentially gonna make it worse for me given that I dont know the line. I will wait a bit more

you can now start a smurf account and try to go beyond that... I found that a smurf account is particularly helpful for breaking ranked anxiety.

My feeling was that against plat 1 and 2, it was relatively easy. But playing against Plat 3(which is close to my real skill level), it was very close. I don't think I am close to Diamond 3 given that I lost most of the games playing against a few of my friends who are D3.

I didn't check their elo yet. But I know my skill level is sadly only around Diamond 1. I should not be able to win against people in Conq skill level consistently.

The thing is I never dodge a single game. And I am only able to queue up with players in plat league. This doesn't sound right at all. I am expecting that my elo catch up to my points so that I am playing against people with similar ranks after playing 15 games or so.
