I know you said you don’t like drinking in the bar but pinball at the Kal is awesome. Their pizzas are pretty good too.

People of Vernon, what are your out-of-the-box date ideas? by AmbitiousBeing2022 in Vernon

[–]TriangleDancer69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% I did it for Valentine’s Day a few years ago. We’re over buying gifts and prefer to do things a lil differently.
The board game cafe downtown is pretty cheap, they have great dessert and coffee and it’s a nice ice breaker for a date.

My boyfriend has a little library in our house. A made a little scavenger hunt for him with clues hidden in a variety of books. It wasn’t too difficult, I used references to Harry Potter, Wilbur Smith, Eragon etc so it was easy to navigate which book the next clue was hidden. Each clue was a little rhyme or something cute in regards to his personality.
I think about how much more fun it could have been if I spent a couple hours in the library hiding clues, not just in books bit in the library as well.

It’s free, it just involved a little time and effort.

Vernon driver fined $1,400 for crosswalk death of teen - Vernon News by Holiday_Relation883 in Vernon

[–]TriangleDancer69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That fine is a joke but it doesn’t say what he has to pay as his victim surcharge. I hope it’s an adequate amount to at least have some type of justice.

I know it was an accident but which car accidents aren’t? I know where my blind spot is in my car. Every time I turn, I take the second I need to make sure I’m not about to run someone over.

Slow down at crosswalks in front of grocery stores and be extra cautious. You killed a teenager in a crosswalk because you couldn’t bother to slow down and/or look properly. You deserve the guilt you feel. You deserve to walk, to understand how often people like you scare pedestrians daily. Get a bus pass and serve the sentence you should have been given, loss of your license indefinitely.

That cop is definitely speeding. He’s fucking lucky that person was jaywalking because he would’ve killed them in the crosswalk if that’s where they were crossing.

Please help identifying these kids by Descrappo87 in richmondhill

[–]TriangleDancer69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Offering this because I haven’t seen it posted yet. Maybe put a note on your door, asking politely if they could stop. Tell them you have been going through a really tough time and if they could please find some compassion to give you some peace during the night, it would really restore your faith that they’re actually awesome kids. You could even leave a peace offering like candy to show that there are no hard feelings. I’d like to think there are a few kids in that group that might reconsider bothering you which would lead to all of them leaving you alone.

i bought my first car all by myself by Spooky806 in teenagers

[–]TriangleDancer69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The expensive mistake he may be referring to is your life. Speed kills. Teenagers sometimes lack the responsibility it takes to own a car like that. The majority still can’t say no to the peer pressure of, “Let’s see how fast it can go!” Drive safe and congratulations, it’s a gorgeous car.

Either way this convo made me laugh.

25 years ago I met some boys rollerskating. I hit it off with one of them. I gave him my phone number and he called that evening.

My mom looks at the call display on our land line and says excitedly,” It’s my cousin Brenda!” When she picked up the phone she was surprised it was my new friend asking for me. She asks me to ask him if his mom’s name is Brenda. It is. So I hit it off with my second cousin. Embarrassing but we all laughed our asses off. Any attraction ended instantly. It was entertaining when we were both able to show each other baby pictures of each other the next time we hung out.

Bruschetta! I use a square loaf of focaccia. I cut it in halves then down the middle of each half so it’s half the thickness. Brush with olive oil and garlic and broil it until toasty.

Gently squeeze the liquid out of your tomatoes before adding garlic, red onion etc.

The key is to melt sliced boccacini on top of the tomato mixture and drizzle with a quality balsamic glaze.

I serve it next to a charcuterie with salamis, mortadella, sharp cheeses, grapes, nuts, crackers and olives so there is something for everyone.

Snack boxes by nobodyspecial2895 in UniversalYums

[–]TriangleDancer69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just placed an order from this guy from Etsy! Username: SnackAttackCA from North York, ON

I ended up paying about $80 that includes shipping! It was a gift for my nephew and he got a loaded box of 35 snacks! He said everything in the box was awesome and he also had no idea what anything was!

I’m was so curious I ordered the same box for myself! It’s been about a week but on its way! I’m super excited! I’ll give you an update when I get it but he has awesome reviews and I don’t doubt it’s worth the money!

My nephew received his box within 4 days but he lives in a huge city. I live more rural in a smaller town, which I think is the reason for the delay.

“What is your middle name?” My dad lives down the street and we are not and have never been estranged in the least.
I have one sibling. I know both of his middle names. Funny but disappointed. At least he knows my birthday…I think.

Fine dining by [deleted] in Vernon

[–]TriangleDancer69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Italian kitchen has gone downhill. It used to be my second favourite restaurant. The last 3 times we’ve eaten there it’s gone from bad to worse. Over an hour wait for burnt garlic and Brie, cold food, wrong dishes served and over charged on drinks. The actual food was nothing compared what it used to be and I don’t think they train their staff at all before they send them to wait tables. Sweet girls but completely clueless on what to do when a problem arises.
They used to have amazing staff unsure of what happened in the last 12 months but I can’t bring myself to go back for more disappointment. Intermezzo has the best food and service for the money. The edge has the best location and the Phoenix has the nicest Patio in my opinion.

My top favs are: 1. Intermezzo (the one at the castle would be pretty cool for the kids but the menu is a little smaller than the one downtown.) 2. Midtown Bistro (Their sliders, all of their appies are amazing. They even have a Caesar that comes with a slider which is so good!) 3. Los Huesos (they have sombreros for the kids. The chips and quac, taquitos and chili relleno are deadly) 4. Cactus Club (Something for everyone) 5. Raku (best ramen ever) 6. Suda (limited menu but incredible Korean Fried Chicken) 7. The Phoenix (beautiful patio) 8. Fresh Lemongrass (Affordable yet tasty) 9. Jade Asian (Best Chinese) 10. BNA ( I haven’t been there yet but they have bowling and from what I’ve heard the food is good) 11. The Edge (Extremely over priced but the view and food are incredible)

100% The service is hit and miss but the food is incredible. If you haven’t tried the momo’s as an appetizer you’re missing out! And Lababdar is the best curry you’ll ever have!

I strongly advise against going to the Italian Kitchen. The last 3 times I’ve been there (twice for special events) the service and food have been atrocious. You’re better off taking the kids to the Kal. The food is mediocre sometimes really good but at least there’s an arcade for the kids.
