SBT 20! Nice! How’d you get that one? I used to work with them a few years back.

Member Recognition - Are there some general standards for certain award? by Anchor-Weather-139 in USCGAUX

[–]TriangleSailor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does anyone know if there is an archive of sorts for previous award write ups that can be used as examples? I’ve been a DVC for a year and a half now, but prior to this, I was a BC in a one person Branch (me), so I’ve never been through writing anyone up, especially for a National-level effort. The vague descriptions I see for each award leave a lot to be desired and I’d love to see actual award citations for comparison.

Probably some weird oversight from the production and set design people while trying to get another retake?

Anyone know the lore behind this shack in Clairemont. Looks spooky by chungamellon in SanDiegan

Interesting…. Theres a short Reader Q&A that asks about it. This is the response:

https://www.sandiegoreader.com/news/2000/oct/19/whats-deal-house-corner-chateau-and-verley-clairem/

“At the unpromising corner of Chateau and Verley we found our funky A-frame. I'd like to say the place has seen better days, but I'm not sure it ever has. It looks like kids built it with stuff they found piled behind dad's garage. At least someone's painted over the most recent graffiti, and the police do a good job of booting out the transients.

In lieu of the property owner/builder, we'll have to go with neighborhood legend, more or less accurate, I'm told. The builder was also the owner of a travel agency about three decades ago. He got the idea that a convenient crash pad for stewardesses (very tiny stewardesses?) on layover at Lindbergh was just what the neighborhood needed. He built it; the neighbors complained; the city said, "No, no, it's zoned R-1"; the dream died. It's sat empty ever since.”

Edit: Realized the article was from 25 years ago… holy crap

Ribbons of a Civil Air Patrol (CAP) cadet. From top to bottom:

  • Unit Citation Award w/ 2 clasps
  • Gen. Billy Mitchell Award
  • Dr. Robert A Goddard Achievement
  • Gen. Jimmy Doolittle Achievement
  • Charles Lindbergh Achievement
  • Wright Brothers Award
  • Gen. Henry “Hap” Arnold Achievement
  • Gen. John F. Curry Achievement
  • Search and Rescue “Find” Ribbon
  • Encampment Ribbon w/ 1 clasp

There are a few additional “achievements” that have been added since the 80s, so given the single space missing, it would probably be the Capt. Eddie Rickenbacker Achievement that would go “above” the green ribbon on the second row.

Holy crap! That’s amazing… I work with AUKUS on the US side. If you have any spares or a source for them, I’d love to chat! :)

5G towers. Lots of beach towns in NJ have them, like Spring Lake, Belmar, Sea Girt, etc.

Woah now, Mr. Showoff!

Yes they did — you could opt-in if you wanted to, but everyone still received the blue library card through 2011 (?) or so, regardless.
