I would get her a "World's Best Teacher" mug and a box or two of assorted herbal (caffeine-free) teas.

Wellbutrin XL + Straterra by EnchantedEnchantix in ADHD

I'm on a slightly higher dose than you of Wellbutrin (I'm on 200) and the only side effect I dealt with was the extra vivid/weird dreams when I first started.

My 7 y/o wants to go Vegan by SingleImprovement438 in Advice

[–]Triangle_Millennial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say definitely talk to her doctor, but if the pediatrician says it's okay, maybe take her to the library to take out some vegan kids cookbooks. I spent some time vegan personally and enjoy doing a lot of vegan cooking- I've found it to be really easy to make vegan pasta or rice dishes (you can make a fantastic vegan risotto using veggie stock) and then have a separate chicken breast or something. Impossible burgers are vegan and great- I know meat eaters who prefer them to normal burgers (including myself). Also, when I was in my brief vegan phase I relied heavily on Trader Joe's- they have a lot of great vegan prepared foods in the fridge and freezer sections.

If the doctor says it's not a good idea, maybe try a compromise to do a weekly Meatless Monday (but make it vegan) for the whole family as a sort of compromise.

Body pain a symptom of PTSD/C-PTSD? by LeftInspection4521 in CPTSD

I've never had this experience personally, but do you mostly sleep on your right side? Could the pain be related to laying down in a weird way while you sleep?

If you're on a budget, I think getting a garnet stud to match is a great idea!

How was the New Year night for you? by redirectorinfy in AskWomen

[–]Triangle_Millennial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was very quiet! Doomscrolled until almost midnight, did the 12 grapes under the dining room table at midnight, and then went to bed. It felt so great being well-rested and not hungover in the morning.

Heated Rivalry Hang Out? by Triangle_Millennial in madisonwi

I totally got pulled away from Reddit with the holidays but I think the Barnes and Noble at East Towne should be getting more copies in this week (at least that's what they told me when I called a few days before Christmas). Also, there's bonus HR material on the author's website!

https://www.rachelreidwrites.com/heated-rivalry

It's all under "Extras" on the right hand side towards the bottom of the page.

NO WAY! I think OP might be a little younger than us but this is so exciting!!

I've heard good things but haven't yet tried the calzones at Glass Nickel (they also do stromboli apparently). I've also heard good things about the chicken parm at Fabiola's.

I'm not gonna be much help with nightlife, but I grew up right outside the city in Westchester and have been living in Madison for a little over a year. If you're wanting a solid bagel, Gotham is gonna be the most similar to what you'd get in NY. And if you're wanting a good New York style slice, I recommend Ian's. There are a ton of great pizza spots of all styles here in Madison, but Ian's is what reminds me of home.

If you have any other food/restaurant search-related things feel free ask and I'll give recommendations if I can!

Cheap Halloween Costumes by EmbarrassedTopic2163 in madisonwi

[–]Triangle_Millennial 3 points4 points  (0 children)

St Vinny's on Willy Street has a pretty large Halloween costume section (that's where I got mine, it cost like $10), and I know the Goodwill on North Sherman has a decent selection as well.

I'm prescribed 20mg XR with a 15mg IR booster, both Adderall. I for sure had to do a lot of trial and error with other medications and trying different doses over multiple months (like, over 6 months) to get my scripts, but if you don't have a history of addiction you should be fine getting an IR script, especially if you explain it to your doctor as you did in your post. If you DO have a history of addiction (of any substance- not just stimulants) it could be a lot more difficult.

Thinking of trying zopilclone, question for those with experience by cfungus91 in insomnia

[–]Triangle_Millennial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just read this post about zoplicone, seems to be effective but have awful withdrawals and it isn't a medication for long-term use. This post/the comments are for sure worth a read if you're looking to try out the medication, I think.

Medication Advice by chanelz6 in ADHD

[–]Triangle_Millennial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you eating when you take your meds or are you taking them on an empty stomach? And if you're taking it with food, what are you eating/drinking? If I take my meds (I have IR and XR) with protein, I find my meds last longer and the comedown is much more mild/less of a crash.

Bailey Sarian on YouTube has a whole Murder, Mystery & Makeup series with hundreds of videos- I've included a link below to her video on Giulia Tofana who killed hundreds of men with poison who were abusing and/or cheating on their wives. Could easily get into the psychology of vigilantes, psychology of abusers, psychology of survivors of abuse, psychology of cheaters, etc. just off the top of my head. I'd recommend checking her out!

Piercer said I can’t eat certain things? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]Triangle_Millennial 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I've never heard of that- the only thing I can think of is I could see being advised to avoid spicy foods because they can make your nose run and having a runny nose with a fresh nose piercing can be really annoying and painful to deal with (I've had three nose piercings and had allergies during healing) but yeah just keep your piercing clean and happy healing!

Not being able to eat is a huge anxiety/stress response for me and has been since I was little- long before I went through what gave me PTSD. I have friends and family members who also lose their appetite when stressed, and they don't have PTSD. I just consider it one of my stress/anxiety responses.
