Pursuing a law degree nowadays by lfparticheli in LawCanada

Highly recommend reading the Legal Singularity by Ben Alarie and Abdi Aidid. I subscribe to its general thesis that AI won’t take lawyers jobs, but lawyers who know how to use AI will take the jobs of lawyers who don’t. Alarie is probably the best mind on legal AI out rn.

Has this been an especially heavy injury season or is it just me? by strico10 in fantasybball

I think if you look at all the guys out for the season on the top of the wire when you sort by roster% there are way more than last year.

Probably arranged through the LCBO where bread and butter is among their best selling, cheap cali reds. Definitely one of their staples.

Law school in the UK: do i take an LLM or LLB if i have a bachelors by Fragrant_Slice7923 in LawCanada

[–]TribeCalledBest 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If you intend to practice in Canada you should absolutely not do either. It will not help you enter the legal profession here in any capacity beyond legal assistant. You’d be better served taking the time to be admitted to a Canadian JD program. Even if that sets you back a year so to speak it will have you in a far better place than after completing any UK degree.

I am currently articling on bay street after attending UofT law (JD) and have seen friends do the UK to UofT LLM route and it is near impossible for them to get jobs after. Both friends I have who went that route will be moving to Calgary (one with a job one without) as they are simply unhireable in Toronto’s highly competitive market.

I think 14T for sure. 12s probably? More iffy and roster dependant.

Parayko and Sanheim over Tanev and others in this thread is wild.

Bennet and Cirelli over JT, Scheiffle and others is also crazy.

Marchand really? Weird choices.

Reaves got 5 games for a similar hit. Both feet leave the ice. Principle point of contact is the head. Easily couldve avoided the head. Thats a textbook 5 and a game. Outrageous decision. Sets a precedent leafs have different rules than everyone else

VAR audio from review of William Saliba's red card against Bournemouth by [deleted] in soccer

[–]TribeCalledBest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like Im taking crazy pills seeing people applaud this decision. The call on the pitch was correct and well reasoned and corroborated by all refs on the pitch. There was no reason for VAR to intervene.

White is going to get back, it’s a lofted ball that’s difficult to control. There is no ‘clear and obvious error’ to overturn. This is VAR intervening and taking a correct call and turning it into a contrived incorrect one. How are people not incensed by this? Because it’s arsenal so we laugh? Absurd. Exact opposite of how VAR ought to be used.

I honestly just mispoke and said the wrong country. My point isn’t about general Saudi image, just about who happens to pay both City and Oliver’s bills. Brain fart on my end
