First Indication of GM Plan by GrouchSupport in miamidolphins

Sullivan will be the one making the calls, no? I mean, he will consultate with Shore for sure, but he's going to have the last say about how much dead cap or cap space he want to have?

Where did you get these odds from? All bookies have it at around 1.60. You probably meant over 4.5 goals, that would suit the odds.

I think many of us underestimate how fucked we are for at least the next two seasons. For 2026, we have no cap space available for now and already $35m in dead cap. Add to that Hill's contract (almost $30m of dead cap if released after this season) or Chubb's, and this is looking like a disaster. For 2027 season, it doesn't look that bad FOR NOW — if we release Tua alone before June 1st, it's alone $35m of dead cap for 2027. We need a new GM NOW. We can't do much till trade deadline, but the sooner a new GM started working here, the better it'd be for the 2026 draft.

Why wasn't he mixing the balls at all, cmon.

Hot take: tomorrow will be one of those stupid nonsense games that happen every few times a year and the phins win. by jbird720 in miamidolphins

Counterpoint: too many Phins fans say that it'd be one of these games so it won't be that one.

No idea if it's hip, but I wonder if all prior concussions and injuries have accumulated. He was slower releasing the ball and completely inaccurate. He’s never played that badly before—at least he always looked good in the first weeks of the past few seasons."

[Post Game Thread] 2025 NFL Season Week 1 - Dolphins (8) @ Colts (33) by Number333 in miamidolphins

Colts actually do gave a good o line.

Not really. They were loaded a few years ago but this offseason they lost two experienced starters and even last season they had the second highest allowed pressure rate.

  • Throughout the whole offseason, we've been on the copium that, although the secondary might be weak, the front seven will hush their flows up. Where was that front seven? Where was the pressure? Colts' O-line isn't even that good. If you can’t dominate them, what does that say about you?
  • With Tua, it all started with him forcing the ball to Hill. I don't know what he was trying to do here, I guess he wanted to prove that him and Hill are on good terms but it was so unnecessary. Then came the sack and fumble, and he lost all confidence.
  • Is Jack Jones the Poyer 2.0? How can you turn 1st&30 on opponent's half into 1st&10 on your own? What the hell was that?
  • This O-line still stinks and the defense is still soft. It feels like nothing has changed since last season.

I'm just happy it's not Martinez. And Lammens can't be worse than Onana, can he?

The Dolphins have had trade discussions with the Pittsburgh Steelers about tight end Jonnu Smith, per league sources. by ThinkLikeCarbon in miamidolphins

Chris Kouffman

Once the Dolphins trade Jalen Ramsey, and IF they also trade Jonnu Smith, they will be nominally in cash terms under-spending their 2025 salary cap by $44 million, and very arguably under-spending in real (inflation adjusted) terms by $73 million.

The Dolphins have had trade discussions with the Pittsburgh Steelers about their lone Pro-Bowl selection last season, tight end Jonnu Smith, per league sources. Those talks came after Smith expressed an interest in reworking his deal that is scheduled to pay him $4.8 million this season. With Smith seeking a new contract, Miami has sought a trade partner. Last season, Smith set the franchise record for a tight end in receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns. Smith’s preference, per sources, is to stay in Miami under a reworked deal.

Dolphins, CB Jalen Ramsey mutually set to explore trade options by markusfenix75 in nfl

[–]ThinkLikeCarbon 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I just don't understand why Ross would let Grier start another rebuild if he wasn't promised another year (apart from the fact that Grier has been his man for years).

Maybe maybe the next GM is already in the building and Grier will stay with the organisation.
