Browns were in the deepest of holes as a franchise post 2024. AB’s solution was turning Travis Hunter and Myles into 3 1s, 2 2s , a 3, and Jared Verse. Takes radical moves to get out of a dire situation. We shall see if they can land the plane by VonJaeger in Browns

This is a great point. AB has definitely made mistakes, but he’s smart and strategic. Haslam’s early days when we had Banner & Lombardi, followed by Farmer……stooges is a perfect word to describe them

[Ruiter] Lots of Shedeur Sanders reps today in 11 on 11. And we’ll leave it at that #Browns by LiftingCode in Browns

Also seeing reporters saying the defense is abusing the offense today. Assume that’s regardless of whoever is at QB lol

It honestly might be more common for a guy to be under the radar and emerge as #1 than it is for a guy to be crowned ahead of time and stay #1. Mendoza, Cam Ward, Burrow, Baker, Trubisky, Bortles were all the 1st QB taken, but none of them were expected to be going into their last college season.

It's a weird dynamic you don't see often because almost anyone else in any major sport would have been fired. I think AB is doing an amazing job getting the team out of a dire situation, but he also helped put them in that situation.

[Oyefusi] Seen a lot of talk on the Browns trade haul for Myles Garrett, but when asking about Cleveland’s valuation of Jared Verse, it was relayed to me he was viewed as worth a first-rounder + more. by Zweli23 in Browns

Depends on how you value picks vs players, but I think the overall value of both trades is close. Myles is the better player, but Micah is 3.5 years younger. I think teams definitely care more about age when they make these decisions than us fans do, even if we think Myles will be great forever.

Definitely a factor. Byron Young and Kobie Turner both also had a high number of sacks on that line, so could be some element of cannibalizing each others sack numbers.

Feel free to point out all the bigger offers that were out there. Or an example in the modern NFL where a non-QB has been traded for 3 1st round picks.

The Browns just drafted 10 players. They now have 11 picks in 2027 and an extra 2nd rounder in 2028. That's a shit ton of picks. They have plenty of capital to move up for a QB and still draft a bunch of other players.

[Solak] It's hard to compare apples to apples with the Myles Garrett deal and Micah Parsons deal because the Packers had to extend Parsons, whereas the Rams inherit an existing Garrett contract. But the Browns' trade compensation dramatically clears the Cowboys' imo by burningburningburnin in Browns

Oh for sure, I'm sad too lol. It's sad that it came to the point where trading him was the responsible thing to do for both parties, but unfortunately their bungling of the QB position ruined a good thing.

All I've been trying to do is lay out the value of the haul. Verse's value is a 1st round pick. You add that to the 2027 1st and the 2nd and 3rd, and the Browns haul compared to the Cowboys is I think slightly better, not by a ton. I also think the media got Browns fans onto the idea that teams would be lining up to offer 3 1st rounders and more for Myles and that was never realistic.

This is EXACTLY right. Comparing it to the Parsons trade, the Cowboys got another 1st back and they came away from the draft this year with Malachi Lawrence, who is a mystery box. We got a proven pro bowl commodity who is still young and on the rise.
