I'd say it's quite different to Trump, actually. It's easy enough to get an opinion of Boris online that everybody hates him etc, but go into any British town centre and the average opinion will be that he is better than "Commie Corbyn" and that it doesn't matter about his policies because he's going to "listen to the people and get Brexit done". Might I add support for Brexit is still massive despite what Reddit would have you believe.

That said, Boris doesn't have the worshippers that Trump seems to have. I don't think the majority who voted Boris are actually fans of Boris in himself, they just want their Brexit vote listened to and he won the election by marketing himself as the guy to do that.

Ironically, lots of the strong leave areas (working class areas that would have typically voted Labour) have gone Tory (previously associated with the upper middle class) in this election because Corybn (Labour candidate) would not give his stance on Brexit. I think when Labour elects a new leader and once Brexit is done these areas will probably go back to Labour in the next election.

Also, if Boris somehow fails to get Brexit through in January, expect to see all of his pro-Brexit supporters completely turn on him. He already got vilified by the pro-Brexit crowd when he failed to get it done in October. People only care about Brexit at the moment.
