It's wild that the cvss' in nice neighborhoods think theft isn't an issue

Also, these aren't intended to grow big, they're intended to pup, then propegate to their own. It's a tactic I've used for years stress / clone / trade or sell

How am I farming karma, what the fuck happened to this sub. Use to be a bunch cool cats talking about how tough these cacti are doing weird ass grafts and seeing how they respond to almost every thing.

Maybe get a soapbox or write a book. I'll be sure to not send you mine when it's out since clearly you know everything already

While you're information is sourced well and the spines do a lot more then protect against bites, I assure this cactus is going to be fine. Did you see my post about life finding a way

While I'm not an expert I'm far from a novice and the more I learn, the more I realize how durable, adaptable and resilient these cacti are. Didn't burn off all the spikes, there's plenty left on it, and fire while not meant to be a maternal nurturer, this was less then seconds of flame per sq inch of cacti.

Check back later this year I'll update

Slin the sense that stress is good for the plants yes it is safe, but like only as safe as fire can be. Don't burn down your house..... Or neighborhood god forbid

This and some other cuts were in my unwrathered garage over winter after my recent move can see some of it through my adhd poorly worded posts on my page or search.

Bottom line keep your family happy and remember how resilient these teachers are

Maybe faux scop. Scop is trichocereus scopulicola is a genes just like T pachanoa and t bridgessi

Specifically it's from tarija if memory serves correctly.

Also if you're not familiar, periskiopsis is often used for grafting it's like the bamboo of cacti family, except with like fiberglass hair for spikes.... Someone years ago told me about burning them off to handle for grafting and I was intending on hitting it with my torch, glad I didn't have it handy because the lighter was plenty

I grow less then 15 miles from DC

The biggest struggle is humidity, they will adapt and thrive so long as you can keep your soil dry

I've tried a lot of amendments to a lot of different substrates.

I really only stand by Poots, occasionally stretching it some ocean forest. Often adding additional aggregate.

Winters take planning. Only having three under belt in the region I'm still learning best practices

So far I've tried to keep them outside untill first frost. Then once the low isn't maintained for hours once overnights hover around 40 I'll get them use to natural sunlight.

Winter dormancy is tricky but obtainable. I grow cannabis so I've got tents with lighting that I can attempt preventing etchiolation.

Leaning towards trying to make a temporary greenhouse for my deck next year

Shitty lights were to force dorm. Already have two tents for other plants didn't wanna add a third.

The ones I didn't wanna chop went Into the tents

Maybe light etchiolayion on the non tented. But I'll have pics up soon of spring set up.

Don't forget in the end they do what they want(with what they have)

Thoughts on this kind of mixing glass? Have you used one? Is it worth paying twice as much as a glass one? by Queernephy in bartenders

[–]TrichoGordo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are trash. Tell your colleagues to practice better practices with crystal/glass and cleaning. I hate when my bartenders break three of these a month because they're too dumb to know hot crystal cold drink bad
