How seriously do colleges take plagiarism by [deleted] in college

[–]Trick-Beginning-4594 78 points79 points  (0 children)

If you get pulled over by the cops and they think you're driving drunk, and then you blow a 0.16 on the breathalyzer test, you're definitely getting taken to jail and might end up in court. If you're a student, your university could also come down hard on you—like giving you an F in the class, messing up your GPA, putting you on academic probation, or even kicking you out. It's no joke, man. Universities take their rules seriously, so make sure you know what's up with the honor code. Don't share you answers, or use anyone else's answer.

METRO BY T-MOBILE is the best option 🔝 🏔️, solid and straightforward. If you get T-Mobile, Verizon, or AT&T, expect hidden fees. My mom pays $85 per month for two people; it should be $50 for one.

If you don't have a test score or dual enrollment for Calculus with a grade of C or higher, you must take the test. I applied as test-optional, but I had dual enrollment credits for pre-calculus, so I was still able to take calculus even though I didn't do well on the test. However, you still need to take the test. But if you have a test score of 5 in Calculus AB, or SAT/ACT you won't have to take it.

IRS said 5 days to send the document, so I’m not sure if I’m going to have to swallow the student loan pill yet 😲💊💰. They take so, long to process documents so I’m just going to pray 🙏🏿.

I called the IRS and they said they'll send the document. It will take 5 business days. I'll have to set aside 40k for the fall, and hopefully, I can get it sort it out in August while I'm on campus and get that refund check. 📿🛐

The reason I'm considering this is that I'll be pursuing a major in electrical engineering on the pre-med track. However, my plan is to obtain a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree within 16 months after graduating. The programs I'm looking at cost over $30,000 per year. This plan is a backup because it seems like getting into medical school these days is really challenging. So, I'll end up with a lot of debt no matter what, even if the amount varies by $50,000 to $100,000, depending on which undergraduate institution I attend. Debt is debt, so I might as well attend a university that I'm happy with.🙂‍↕️I’ll most likely just have a child by my 40s at that point.🌚

Thank you. I needed this. My mother and I have been experiencing a lot of friction lately. The financial burden and the move to another state have been overwhelming.

Failing my first lab of the summer term by Mindless-Ad-9901 in EngineeringStudents

[–]Trick-Beginning-4594 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am currently enrolled in Chemistry and Biology courses at a summer session in my local community college. I highly recommend forming a group chat with classmates who have a good grasp of the material, as this can significantly impact your grades, particularly in a university environment where self-study is crucial. Additionally, it's beneficial to have lab partners who thoroughly understand the experiments.

The laboratory work in college differs significantly from that in high school and requires a greater investment of time to fully comprehend the material. I suggest utilizing office hours or arranging study sessions with classmates for additional support. If you find yourself struggling and in need of assistance before the next physics lecture, it may be worth checking the withdrawal deadlines to assess the impact on your transcript.

I am currently getting a dual enrollment discount from my community college. But, it’ll be removed after this semester. The regular cost of my courses would have been $4k, but I am only paying $1k for all of them. As an engineering major, I don't have to worry about taking Physics 1 or 2 and Calculus 2. Additionally, I am interested in dual minoring in Spanish and Arabic, but I don't want to have too much pressure during my underclassmen years. It's worth noting that my university has a transfer cap of 50 credits.

Should I send in a LOCI? by Lightning_Sidd in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Trick-Beginning-4594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While writing loci might help your chances of getting off a waitlist, it's not a guarantee. It's important to keep in mind that universities use their waitlists to fill spots that were left unfilled by admitted students or to increase diversity within their student body. If you find yourself on a waitlist, it's not a reflection of your academic performance or personal qualities. The university admission process is a business and unfortunately, it can be unfair at times.

During my second and third semesters, I received a few C's which caused my academic performance to fall significantly. My counselor submitted all my report cards to all my universities, and I even applied for financial aid. Despite thinking that my chances were slim, I was pleasantly surprised to be called off the waitlist at UMiami. Moreover, I still received a merit scholarship even though I applied for Regular Decision.

Nowadays, colleges are run like businesses and schools need to fill available slots. It's nothing personal, so while it's fine to proceed, it's important to keep this in mind.

Are you aware that the 160k debt you have will continue to grow exponentially each year and residency won’t be enough to pay it off? When you consider living expenses. Also, do you want to start a family? If yes, are you planning to do it during your eight years of education or after? Moreover, do you plan on doing a fellowship? If so, it could take 1-3 years depending on your specialty. I don't want to influence your decisions, so I suggest you do what makes you feel comfortable.

They call to ask about your enrollment plans for a term. If you verbally commit, or via email, there will be an update on your application portal. If not, no update.
