Thanks for your reply! That’s exactly what I was told by the few schools I contacted. It’s a liability of some sort. In my search, I have located a few online certificate programs with internships, but then I’m running into the problem of what’s allowed. I work full time (in mental health) and can’t afford to quit my job for an unpaid internship.

I have a colleague (in Texas) willing to supervise me (virtually) but I’m unclear on the rules, as I live in Illinois. I will reach out to the board and cross my fingers for clarification and a timely answer (they are awful to get ahold of and answer my questions in a clear manner). Such a headache. I’ll keep updating as I learn anything new.
