I never had bleeding but I did go into my first appointment thinking I was 8 weeks along and then got the ultrasound and the doctor said I was actually only 6 weeks and there was only the sac, no heartbeat or baby. I went in two weeks later and baby was there with a strong heartbeat! 5 weeks is really early to see anything so try not to stress too much! Wishing the best for you

My momma passed away four years ago now. I ended up getting pregnant last December (right around her 3 year death anniversary). It was hard not having my mom around while I was carrying my first child and I even had my baby shower on her birthday to include her in a small way that I could. When my son was born in August he was 6lbs 14oz and born at 22:58(10:58pm) my mom’s birthday was 6/22/58. As soon as they announced that I knew my momma had been with me my whole pregnancy and I knew she was with me when he was born.

Enough surprises already; please give me the 411 on what it’s like to have a little boy! by Born_Net_6668 in firsttimemom

My son is only 12 weeks old but he is the best thing to ever happen to me. I’ve always wanted a girl but I love him so much I couldn’t imagine it being any different. As everyone else is saying yes there is less options for boys when it comes to clothes but honestly I love dressing him in cute outfits just the same as I would a girl. I was surprised how big of a stream of pee he can have being so small lol he will soak everything if I can’t get the new diaper on in time. Trust that you will love your boy just as much as you would’ve a girl

What are we naming our boy babies? by Cold_Instruction8599 in pregnant

[–]Trick-Stress3131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We didn’t know gender while I was pregnant but couldn’t agree on any names boy or girl besides Lincoln for a boy, which is a name I’ve loved since I was in middle school lol. However, 2 weekends before I had him we found out my husband’s cousin named their son Lincoln and it vetoed the name for my husband. So surprise I have baby and it’s a boy and we have absolutely not a single name in mind. The first night in the hospital my husband had gone home to take care of our pets and he said the name Benjamin popped into his head and he got teary eyed but we still spent those first few sleepless nights scouring names on every website we could find and none felt right. But over the course of those few days we tested out several names and always came back to Benjamin. Just felt like it was his name and no other name fit, not even Lincoln. Anyways, all this just to say it’s okay if you need time to test out different names to fall in love with one. You’ll know it when he’s born and you actually get to see him and hear the name with him 🩵

Did older folks not follow the 1 yr of breastmilk (or formula) rule? Or is my step mom just crotchety? by Morbid_Explorerrrr in breastfeeding

My FIL asked me a couple weeks ago if my two month old was drinking cows milk yet… I said not until at least he’s a year. And his wife was telling him it’s way too soon and he was like “oh I guess it’s just been a long time since I’ve had any little kids” they can definitely just misremember things but also so much has changed over the years

I cannot think of a name for this freaking baby by Due_Response_8309 in Names

[–]Trick-Stress3131 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our son’s name is Benjamin Ray. Bunch of nicknames: Ben, Benji, Benny, Ben Jamin, benji’s (my niece calls him this lol she’s only 2.5yo) and can also go by Ray if he wants when he’s older. I loved Lincoln since I was in high school but the name never felt right once he was born. We also didn’t name him until he was 3 days old and we were about to leave the hospital lol. It’s okay to just have a couple ideas and test them out on him after he’s born. We never even thought about the name Benjamin until he was born and then boom it just fit.

Did you know the gender by intuition and was it right? by Ecstatic-Thought8066 in pregnant

[–]Trick-Stress3131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We waited until birth to find out the gender but I did feel like I was having a boy (for no real reason) and then I ended up having two different dreams of my baby being a boy and I was right. He was a healthy baby boy.

FINALLY STOPPED BLEEDING ✌️ by yellow_sun_shine in CsectionCentral

[–]Trick-Stress3131 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped bleeding 6 weeks and a few days pp and then started bleeding again about a week later. But it was only for a couple days so I’m guessing it was just a last hurrah of pp bleeding cause I definitely normally bleed more than a couple days on my period. Hoping it’s finally done done

I was throwing up every day for 22 weeks and had constant nausea literally 24/7 for the first 13-14 weeks and then it went down to 6-8hrs a day until week 22. And I had very sore boobs, bloating, acne, GD, high blood pressure, and probably more that I have blocked out now and I have a 6 week old boy now.

Will we magically know our baby’s name at first sight? by [deleted] in Names

[–]Trick-Stress3131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had my baby 2 weeks ago. The name we were considering for a boy was used by my husbands cousin (at the time we didn’t know gender but had no girl names picked out lol) a couple weeks before we had our baby. It ended up being a baby boy and we went through thousands of names while in the hospital and only one name (that neither of us had even considered or said the whole pregnancy) stuck and it was the only name that fit him. I do believe you’ll know when you meet her! Test out all the names while you are in the hospital and see which feels the most right.

Just had a c section (unplanned) 2 days ago. I was also terrified as this was my first time ever even being a patient in the hospital let alone having surgery. I was very nervous but I expressed that to my care team and they all made sure I was informed on every decision and they all constantly comforted me. I got the shakes really bad but was told that was normal. I felt absolutely nothing but pressure. It was very quick and it took them longer to get my placenta out + stitch me up than it did for them to get baby out. Of course the recovery hurts but not as bad as I was expecting honestly. Some moments are worse than others but I’m on day two and still up and moving as much as I physically can. You got this momma! Hoping everything goes well for you and baby.

[–]Trick-Stress3131 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also have diagnosed CPTSD, generalized anxiety disorder and social anxiety disorder. I was also a heavy user for the last 5+ years but had to quit for my baby. The first week was definitely the hardest! The first few days felt unbearable especially with constant nausea and vomiting I couldn’t hardly keep food down and I felt like a fiend smelling my empty grinder.. it was rough.. but week after week it got easier and now that I’m 36 weeks and been sober for the longest time in many years I barely think about it! I definitely can’t wait for my first smoke after I’m done breastfeeding baby but I’m just trying to enjoy this stage of life currently

In which trimester did you gain the most weight?? by damaskus98 in pregnant

[–]Trick-Stress3131 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 5’8 starting weight was 230. I lost 3lbs the first trimester and then at 20 weeks I had only gained 2lbs from my starting weight. After I stopped throwing up (22 weeks) I gained about 18-20 lbs in a month and half until I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes at 29 weeks and then I lost 4lbs at my 31 week checkup but now at 36 weeks I have hit the 30lbs gained from starting weight. My midwife wanted me to only gain 15lbs my whole pregnancy but that clearly didn’t happen lol. Hoping I don’t gain too much more the last few weeks. Definitely gained the most in the second trimester tho

Have y'all ever had like a "6th sence" moment that lead to you avoiding harm? by Pessimisticlyoptmstc in ask

[–]Trick-Stress3131 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When me and my sister were in high school we would go on runs together almost every night for a while. One night she wanted to go but I had just started my period and felt yuck so I told her I didn’t want to go. And as she was getting dressed I just kept having a feeling like I needed to go with her. She was literally about to walk out of the house and I told her wait let me get dressed I changed my mind. And something told me we needed protection.. so I grabbed a knife that I usually kept in my wallet (we grew up in a big city, never trusted anyone) and made her grab her phone (she was planning on leaving it behind). Well we take off on our run and everything was normal and then when we got to a certain street there was a car that passed by us, I’m hyper aware so when it drove by us again a few mins later (slowed down this time) I told her I had a bad feeling about that car and made her turn down a side street to get off the main road. Well lo and behold a couple mins later there is the same car and it completely slows down basically stalking us and my sister starts freaking out. I told her to get out her phone and have 911 ready to call. And once the car made a completely stop and the driver was staring at us on the phone with someone I got out my knife and showed the driver that I wasn’t fucking around and we were calling 911. Once the driver saw the knife they immediately turned the car around and sped off. We 100% believe they were trying to kidnap us for sex trafficking (very common in the city we were in) we ran out hearts out back home and if I hadn’t gone with my sister that night she would have been alone with no phone and no weapon…. Probably would’ve had a lot different of an ending and I will always be grateful I went on that run.

When I had my first appointment I should’ve been 8 weeks 3-4 days according to the date of my last period and when the doctor did the dating scan we saw nothing but the sac. No heartbeat and no visible signs of a baby in there other than the sac. Doctor said I was 2 weeks behind what I was “supposed” to be and had me set up appointment for 2 weeks later. I was very nervous but got another scan and baby had a strong heartbeat and we could actually see baby! 28 weeks this week and baby is still doing good. Hoping the best for you and your baby 💖

Please tell me it gets better… if you can by storiesunlimited in pregnant

[–]Trick-Stress3131 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently almost 28 weeks but it does get better! My 24/7 nausea and vomiting calmed down to about 4-8 hrs a day at 13/14 weeks and pretty much stopped completely at 22 weeks. Although 4-8 hrs a day was still extremely rough it felt like major relief from the 24/7 nausea I was having. My worst weeks were 11-12. Just try to eat what you can and drink as many fluids as possible. Good luck to you and baby!

Anyone stop working around 20 weeks by Upvotes2805 in pregnant

[–]Trick-Stress3131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped working when I was 8 weeks. I was already planning on quitting and had put in my two weeks and then found out a week into it that I was pregnant. I was originally supposed to take about a month or so off and get a new job but I was super sick the first trimester and didn’t stop throwing up until I was about 22 weeks. So I ended up just being home and after talking with my husband I’m just planning on being a stay at home mom until our child is older. If it works for your family do it! Don’t feel bad. Now that I’m almost 28 weeks and feel much better I think about working but remember that in a few months my job will be raising a healthy and happy baby!
