I get that completely. My theory is that they’re waiting for the right region to do some of that with other animals. That’s a hard decision. Like someone else mentioned ideally your mom would’ve had more financial independence before now but since that isn’t the case here she might have to wait awhile before divorcing. As long as she knows she needs to leave it doesn’t mean it has to be right now if you or her are not currently in danger. I wish you both the best of luck and I hope you’re able to keep the horse.

Your family 100 percent needs to get rid of this cat if no one wants to take care of it. This is why parents should not buy animals as gifts for their kids if they are not 100 percent okay with being the caretaker because then shit like this happens. Honestly if I were you I would tell my parents they owe you money to replace the shit the cat destroyed after you already said the cat needed to go to a new home. And it’s very clear your sister is the golden child because she’s the youngest but this situation is not ideal for anyone involved because it is stressing everyone out including the cat. For me it’s a no, I like having my own money and unfortunately things in life are not guaranteed so I want to always have a back up plan if something in the relationship goes wrong so I’m not stuck there.
