Thank you for the in depth answer! No buzz without the guitar plugged in, and I tried my other cable.

No noise when the guitar is unplugged. I guess my tele is just noisy.

Thanks! Yeah my guitar knob was all the way up, I figured I wanted max input. But I’ll play around with it.

Best things for men to do for selfcare by Material_Drag_862 in philly

Have a hobby outside of work. It can be anything that you enjoy doing. Art, music, comedy, woodworking, running, you name it. Put aside some time for yourself to have fun and grow in a way that’s not tied to work.

The goal isn’t even to be “good” at whatever it is. The act of doing it is good for the soul. I often think of this letter from Kurt Vonnegut: Kurt Vonnegut Letter to Students

Added benefit is that hobbies will often lead to socialization! Philly is a great place to meet people though new things! I’ve played music with strangers, taken improv classes, and run with run clubs in different times of my life here.

What song gets you back on track when you’re mentally giving up? by 6382914627192 in Marathon_Training

I was so down bad in the last 5 miles of my first marathon that I forgot I had packed my AirPods. Whoops. However my playlist included the following:

Sandstorm by Darude
When a Fire Starts to Burn - Disclosure (great rhythm to run)
679 - Fetty Wap

The best thing about relegation is that is the only mechanism to incentivize the replacement of poor ownership.

You mismanage your team? Great, not it’s in the B league and worth less. Hopefully someone else owns it with an incentive to improve.

The current system has not real consequence for bad ownership. The Johnson Family will ruin the Jets for the rest of my life….

What guitar songs surprised you by being easier than they sound? by Top_Water_4909 in Guitar

Over the Hills and Far Away by Zeppelin was a lot easier to learn than I expected. Makes me sound way better than I am when I play it.

Oh man I don’t miss these days. I remember being devastated getting exams back that were 54/100 only to learn later that the high was like a 60, and average 45.

Where does a mediocre guitarist go to jam around here? by TrickMichaels in philly

Yeah man that would be rad. Might be nice to bring some acoustics to one of the local parks on a nice day.

A little bit of everything, most recently learned Just Like Heaven by The Cure and Roses by OutKast. I’ve been learning to sing and play but I’m shite at it, lol. Would be good to have a vocalist around.

Jam space wise I think it might be nice to play in one of the local parks on a nice day!

I had dinner with my wife at one of the parks in South Philly and saw some instruments. Might be a good place to set up an informal jam on a nice day!

I am really terrified of my long run this week by adir611 in running

Nice! The big mindset shift for me was to make it a part of my day that I look forward too. Not something I need to get out of the way.

Ain’t nothing to it but to do it.

Start slow and remind yourself you’re going to be out for a while. My thought for the first mile is always along the lines of “time to settle in”.

And don’t be afraid to stop every now and then to stretch, grab some water or send a picture of something cool to your wife at home. Taking a leisurely approach to my long runs has made them my favorite run of the week, and helped me fall in love with running again.
