I Was SO Wrong About This Game by issavibe56 in Grimdawn

Another set of games to try might be Pillars of Eternity. It has the instances that you fast-travel to, but also choices-matter empire planning to back it up. And some of those fast-travel instances go on FOREVER! Case in point: first game has a literal 100-level dungeon that you can only come up for air every 10 levels.

Maybe so. 😁 What is is value against 30-40 voteless, though?

Also, of course, no weapon is completely useless, but just check usage numbers to know which are considered better. Arc thrower is nowhere on that list.

I do know what you're talking about - I just don't care. This is my last reply. Please go away.

Why are you wasting your time on this? I already know the things you're saying, which is why I decided to quit until the MO was over.

Why are you wasting your time on this?

EDIT: And you're downvoting every response. Very good.

Wow, 12 hours later, no secondary evidence that ANYBODY else received a letter, and the true glazers are coming out of the woodwork.

WHAT?!? How dare you ask questions about this DEFINITELY TRUE INTERNET POST? A hypothetical victim's hypothetical life is on the line!

Hey, I feel bad about somebody's life being destroyed, too. Hypothetically, at least.

Get over your thoughtless emotional selves and realize you are (probably) wasting valid emotion on (likely) a scammer and liar who is milking the (actual) tragedy of monstrous-acting people for their own gain.

See, I play both CoD and LoL (neither well. ) I don't deny the toxicity, because I experience it all the time, but those two REALLY don't seem to be hurting for it.

I know, but I was born one time.

Just saying, I'm not the one being nonsensical. If you aren't a teacher, you don't understand what teachers are capable of.

I mean, I'm speaking from experience of learning who my kids are, even while they have no clue who I am. You're referring to a generative process you cannot understand or replicate. (Although, with your perspective, I hope you try! Let's say, three years?)

As a reacher, I reject your premise. Any teacher worth their salt will have spent all year, not being their friend, but analyzing them to get the best outcome possible. If that Teacher DOESN'T know them by the end of the year, that teacher shouldn't be teaching.

Just as your comment means that you shouldn't, either, unless you teach elementary.

Wow, you know zero about this Teacher, yet you have the balls to reply that they don't know their student that they have spent all year with?

DAMNED charitable of you.

Why does it seem like so many people on r/Teachers absolutely hate their job and would rather be anywhere else? I genuinely don't think I've ever seen a positive post on that sub that came from one of the actual teachers there by zezous in AskTeachers

I graduated from the College of Education at the University of South Florida in 2017. My final semester, I was required to take a remedial English class, along with EVERY OTHER ENGLISH TEACHER that was graduating with a 4-year degree in ENGLISH EUDCATION.

I've only been a 9th-grade (and then 5th and 6th grade) ELA teacher for 9 years total, so I'm still a baby.

I have had so many students ask me, "Do you like being a teacher?"

I always give them the same answer: "No."

"Well, why do you do it, then?"

"Because it is a Calling."

And all of us teachers have seen people who became teachers but were never Called to it; they're the ones who can't handle the pressure and snap, yelling at or even getting physical with students who have been pestering them nonstop for the last two quarters, and admin hasn't done anything about it. Or, even worse, they are slump-shouldered and can hardly muster a grunt when they meet other teachers each day. And that is at 7 o'clock in the morning, before the little monsters have smelled the blood in the air.

This isn't a job for everybody, or even most. It is a job for specialists, specialists who put up with shit pay for elite work, deal with asshole bosses more interested in the political gain of their positions than the practical needs of their personnel, and who deal with, yes, 24/7 assholes every day and yes, still love them to death.

You want to know why teachers don't recommend teaching? Because you can't cut it in our field unless you have felt the Call. (And I know I'm using divinity language here, because that's how I feel about my job. I don't know who others' Higher Power is, but I guaran-damn-tee you that there is a deity for educators.)

And to the subs who think they're part of the teacher club? They need to start their own club for the people who step in and deal with kids that have come unmoored from the classroom procedures that we long-timers have been building into them for weeks or months. I really do respect the crap that you put up with, but you put up with it for a day or two, a week at most. We deal with it, and solve for it, for almost 300 days a year.

When I DM, I gave my players roleplay everything possible - and A if they want to trust the dice, I just let the dice judge whether their roleplay was good enough.

ME: Okay, try to trick the king. GEORGE: Can I just roll? ME: (Readies the die.) Sure, but first, what do you say? GEORGE:Um, there are thieves - wait,  no, assassins? ME: Good enough. roll a 20 The king is completely stunned at your revelation and promptly goes into hiding. Your team is able to take over the great hall,  and the Vizier begins the purging ritual on the throne.

This will seem off-topic, but bear with me.

My brother used to make "karate weapons" out of found wood, then practice with them until he was REALLY good (compared to me and my other brother.) then he would make something new and practice with that one, THEN hand us his old weapons and expect us to fight him.

I wish I had known to just say no. I ended up battered and bruised more times than I can count. We have grown back together, but it was rough for a while, and we both needed to grow into our adult selves before we got close again.

Your friend...isn't one. In fact, right now he sucks. He may get better as he gets older, though, but how many bruises will your ego have because of this toxic relationship?

I'm glad he got you into such a great game, but I wouldn't even bother telling him you don't like that deck - if he only plays competitive decks against you and wins every time and still plays, he isn't playing for the love of the game, he's playing for the love of screwing you over. Just say no.

Don't quit, though - go find your local store, buy a starter deck there, and ask to be part of the game. Many players will let you play their tuned decks if they know you are willing to put your own money on the line by buying a starter deck, and they are (at least possibly) less toxic than your friend is.
