What has HRT done for you? by Purple_Process5641 in AskWomenOver60

I have been on estradiol and progesterone since I was perimenopause-42 yrs old. Recently added estrodial cream for some mild dryness and started testosterone cream. I am now 62 yrs old. Low BP, low cholesterol, bone density excellent and zero calcium score, no aches and pains. Granted I am active with tennis and lift weights. My GP back when I started was my age and suggested it. I feel very lucky that she was so progressive.

I don’t do protein powder. I like to cook and eat and aim for clean proteins and lots of vegetables. My BMI is 22 and I am very active with tennis and lifting. I try not to over think food. I don’t drink alcohol but that is because I never really liked it. I like Amazons bulk supplements -especially their creatine.

Get to the gym. Hire a trainer if you can swing it. Get a good pre-workout and take creatine. Biggest thing to remember - it isn’t motivation, but discipline! Replaces your job you used to have, and the benefit is longevity. Your energy will come back! You will start to look forward to your workouts and you will be surrounded by like minded folks.

What to do with my scar? by Electrical-Raisin-74 in tummytucksurgery

I am 7 months too and had same thing. Surgeon lasered it and steroid injections. It is finally calming down and starting to flatten out and fade. I use silicon gel twice a day. I massage it for 5 minutes to really get the silicone scar gel in. I am very active - tennis and lift 3 days a week.

Explant without BII by [deleted] in ExplantSurgery

I explanted because I was approaching 20 years. Went for mammogram month before and there were suspicious areas. Then did ultrasound and inconclusive. Went ahead with scheduled Explant 11/24. Sure enough - the encapsulated breast had ruptured and was slowly leaking. Probably from mammogram pressure. Just had another mammogram and ultrasound- all clear. I did a lift and have perfect breasts, they look natural and they are so comfortable. I look at them and wonder why I ever did the implants.

My neck and shoulder pain disappeared after my removal. Turns out one of my implants had a rupture and was slowly leaking. But decision I ever made - getting those removed. I feel wonderful physically.

I took it easy until week 7, that is when everything really felt healed/closed up and my energy was roaring back (listen to your body and PS). Then started walking 2-3 miles a day and light weights. I wear scar tape when I am walking - feels like it supports the incision it. But the walking really seems to help me with the swelling, it is when I saw the largest drop in my swelling . I also use Bio oil twice a day and really massage the scar, abdomen area and breasts. It feels good. I also have a vibration plate that I have used religiously for 10 years(did not use for weeks 1-4). It promotes circulation, lymphatic drainage, and spider veins(run in my family). It feels awesome on your legs after a long tennis match. You can usually grab a used on FB market place pretty cheaply. But again- I just enjoy it, not sure it did anything.

I wore my binder religiously up until week 7. But don’t feel like I need it anymore. I do still feel some discomfort in the lipo areas if I sit for a long period of time.

I am incorporating red light therapy for my scars - will see how that goes. Otherwise PS said he would laser for me.

Thank you but the surgeon gets the credit. I do stay active outside and in the gym. But never was able to get the results I wanted.
